Listening to SJ he mentioned MM brought up moving on from Moore. At least it sounded that way.

MM is a SB winning coach. He knows he dont have a rogers. I am seeing them going or attempting to go Cowboys 2016. Run first with a big O-Line and good RBs. That maybe different for MM but he brought in power running O-Line coach and again knows he don’t have rogers. Put more WR talent around Dak and go with the short high % passes and let them get YAC. He will have a good Defense maybe even great and a very good ST.

MM knows his job is on the line because Quinn will likely get his job unless he goes to SB. If I am MM and am saddled with Dak then this is what I do. Dak can do this but you can not ask him to throw tight window passes all day or throw 40 times a game to Noah Browns. Keep it simple and lean on a run game. They do have a Dak that’s improved from 2016. He can make the throws. Just dont abandon the run if you get down by 2 points.

Yes, I think MM put his stamp on this. I think he wanted to move on last year. But now he knows the offense and terminology better. He seen what needs to be done and had enough as we fans did. Knew a change was needed.

When he came here all he knew was from film he seen from the previous year. He said he would not change the terminology, and he would learn it and the system.
Now a SB winning coach should have learned this quickly and he probably did. But he was stuck with Moore. And IMO knew going into last year something needed to change. Hence, the philosophical differences we seen in the headlines since Moore / MM /Jerry "mutual agreement" firing.

I am excited to see the 20% to 30% changes but I also believe it will be more than that as the offense evolves. If they can surround Dak with the right players.

Clearly the Cowboys need to do everything they can to beef up the running game. The first part of the season we saw a different Dak when Zeke and Pollard were tearing up the league. Having an unstoppable running game is the single most important thing for our team. The offense and defense were both better when we simply ran away from teams. Just look how much easier it was for Cooper Rush to win with the leagues best running game.

Yeah he had to let Moore sink himself and I knew he would. He was taught by Linehan. He would abandon the run also.

IMO it was clear at least two years ago that the Cowboys needed a new OC and QB coach. Prescott needed the changes. And I obviously believe that MM knew that changes needed to be made back then. Trouble is/was Moore was one of those absolute favs of Jerry Jones and son Steve much like Jason Garrett was. So, it took a long time for MM to get it done. Now that it is finally accomplished lets hope MM can finally lead the Cowboys to some real success...big time success.

That run game got us to the playoffs in 2016. And the short passes kept Dak from throwing picks.

Would be nice. It won’t take long to see if MM abandons the run.

One of the things I’m optimistic about for next season is what I’m seeing as a renewed focus on the running game. I think the changing of coordinator and line coaches show that they realize that they had lost their way in this area.

I also hope to see the return of the fullback position, which McCarthy used in Green Bay with Kuhn and Ripkowski.

MM isn’t going anywhere until he plays out his contract, otherwise Jerry is on the hook for millions of dollars. He knew Callahan was livid after he wasn’t allowed to call plays and BC was gone after the contract, meaning that season, but he didn’t let them go and Jerry was able to get out of it, as BC had the OC title, though he was back to coaching only the OL. The same is the case with Garrett, as he didn’t fire him, just let him play out the contract, though he was basically a walk-around HC when all was said and done. The only way MM gets fired is if Dan quinn takes a HC job somewhere else forcing Jerry’s hand, but he doesn’t want to do that and he’s paying Quinn a lot of money to do what he supposedly loves.

This is a case where Moore mutually agreed with Jerry, meaning Moore could have simply not interviewed until he was fired and then gotten a job. I’m pretty sure Moore wanted to bounce anyways, as the Chargers wanted him immediately.

I can't wait for you guys to see Moore wasn't the problem.

That "told ya so" will be glorious.
I somewhat share your criticism of Dak, but this doesn't look good man. If you want success for the Cowboys, then you being right about this means yet another wasted season for us all. And no fan could want that. So that "told ya so" wouldn't be glorious but rather infuriating and sad.

They have tried every which way under the sun to do that since 2016.....so 2023 will be the sudden year they find the right mixture?

The Cowboys will NEVER have success with Dak Prescott. He will always find a way to fail the team.

I have accepted that and moved on to hoping that he is so horrible going forward that the Joneses cannot justify putting him on the field.

That's a long shot and you know it. ;)

We'd rather hope that whatever MM's cookin works in one way or another. And I don't care if this includes a great season from Dak or him being just the bus driver and the talent around him doing the job.

I REALLY want this draught to end.
