So does that mean Goodell has to hear them all at the same time?

It means that the judgment should be based on the rules at the time of the incident.

Goodell got around it by claiming that there were four separate incidents that night. By that logic, the 10 games could stand.

But if you rule it as one event, the rule at the time was basically a probationary warning.

Even if all 4 wouldn't that be 8 games?

Apparently there were other "cirumstances" (forget the exact phrasing... extenuating circumstances?) for which they could arbitrarily add more games.

I'm trying not to even think about it anymore. It'll happen when it happens. Nothing we can do or say to change that. The NFL is playing their game. I would like to see an amendment that puts a time limitation on their determinations though.

I remember when it was only going to take about 7 days. Those were the good ol' days...

Looks like Hardy may start the season and then serve his suspension later in the year.

Funny how 4 football moves don't count as one catch, but 4 "incidents" add up to one long suspension.

Go pound sand NFL.

Would anyone be surprised if Brady gets a ruling before Hardy?

That reasoning used by Goodell is comical. If that's truly his stance and what he used as a basis for the 10 game penalty, i feel even more confident that ultimately the penalty will be significantly reduced when the dust finally settles.

The GFL (Giants Football League) folks in the NY offices would not be pleased if this were the case. They'd do anything to keep their precious Eli from having to be in the same building as Greg Hardy, who sacked Eli 3 times (6 total sacks for Carolina) in a 38-0 embarassment in 2013 (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/9/22/4758924/eli-manning-sacked-6-times-panthers-giants).

You make up the craziest stuff.

My point is if they drag out the appeal and then rubber stamp it he will file a Federal lawsuit. The judge will issue a stay and he can play until the trial and judgement which may take a while.
