The bigger issue playing Indy would be blocking their two pass rushing ends - Freeney and Mathis. They didn't make too much noise today on the soft NE turf but they are murder on turf. They would really eat up Pettiti and Tucker.

I really hope a good LT drops to us in the next draft. It is probably the biggest weakness on the entire roster right now.

Little Bill is nothing without his 2 coordinators...Just another coach.

he is still a great coach but eventually all the injuries and the loss of two great coordinators WILL catch up to you...

You are by far the most knee jerk fan on this board. I bet this is the first time you saw indy huh?

Neither team has been overly impressive this year.

Yes Indy played well last night, however, the games that they have played in....against subpar team....they haven't been overly impressive. The Colts have struggled against some teams that they SHOULD have beaten handily if we are to believe that they are some elite team.

They have Houston next....big deal....they will go 9-0.

Not impressed with the VERY AVERAGE NE Patriots either.....that window has been slammed shut.

Indy is a great team no doubt. Too many weapons. Lil bill has shown us the only way to beat this monster is to cut off its head i.e. pressure and HIT peyton. I believe we will be able to do this by feb.

The interesting thing... not likely to happen but interesting... is that both participants in last years SB have a legitimate chance of BOTH finishing under .500 and missing the playoffs...

Good stuff! :D

"Little Bill is nothing without his two coordinators?" Is that why he has this team with a winning record despite missing basically half of his defense all year? Comeon now man."

Actually, at this point he DOESN'T have a winning record.

No, but going into New England with the greatest mental block in the NFL and completely destroying the defending champs on National TV when said champs desperately need a win is pretty damn impressive.

Name one team Indy could not beat in the last 7 years with this years team?

I could name a bunch...anybody can beat anybody in this league nowadays, the obvious one is the Patriots however...the Rams in 1999 were a better team...they'd probably handle Baltimore and Tampa though because while both those teams had great defenses, niether had good offenses

The Rams in 1999 had a great offense and an average defense

Indy has great offense and defense

Rams were 4th in pts allowed and 7th in yards allowed, I guess you were still in the womb then and wouldnt have know that

considering they were usually WAY up on opponents, thats pretty impressive

the Colts dont have a great defense yet IMO...they have to play some good offensive teams before I'll agree with that

Indi's defense leaves some to be desired. That keeps them a tad below "great"

They have a lot to prove still.

you can only beat who you play, but Indy has gotten fat on a pretty poor schedule...they've only had one win over a team above .500 (Jacksonville, they barely won at home..and they needed some poor officiating to finish that game off)...Baltimore (2-6), Jacksonville (5-3), Cleveland (3-5), Tennessee (2-7), San Fran (2-6), St Louis (4-4), Houston (1-7) and New England (4-4)...combined record is 23-41 (.359 winning %)...not only that, but only Jacksonville has positive pts scored/pts allowed (+11)...even the 4-4 teams they've played are giving up more than they score, New England (-40) and STL (-23)...the others are SF ( -129) Tenn (-56), Cleve ( -22) Balt ( -44) and Houston ( -109), or, Indy's opponents are negative 412 pts for the season...

thats horrendous, I'd venture to guess thats one of the weakest to-date schedules and results for their opponent teams of anyone...teams that get fat on poor schedules normally do not fare well in the postseason, when they willnormally face at least one or two good teams during a postseason run
