Opponents for 2009

It's now set:

Home:

NYG, Philly, Washington, Atlanta, Carolina, Oakland, San Diego, Seattle

Away:

NYG, Philly, Washington, New Orleans, Tampa, Denver, KC, Green Bay

Thanks that brightened my night.

So another 9-7 campaign just ahead. There's that consistency Jerry Jones spoke of:

2005 9-7
2006 9-7
2007 13-3
2008 9-7

Basically Dallas has confirmed that it is a 9-7, middle of the pack team in the current manifestation.

Obligatory 5-11 Campo reference thrown in.

That's a bit eye opening.

There, fixed it for you.

That, right now, doesn't look like a great schedule for us. If we can fix some of our issues it's a schedule that wouldn't be so bad.

It's tough to tell right now though. Lots of time and things to happen between now and then before we can really know how tough that schedule will or will not be.

You're smoking crack if you think that a Jim Mora, Jr.-coached Seahawks team is going to come into Dallas and win.

Let's go ahead and presume Jerrator actually keeps Quaker Oats as HC and Howdy Doody as the OC. Let's further presume only a few player changes are made and the draft is the usual circus of risky selections.

Here is my prediction of the 2009 season.

HOME
Giants W
Eagles L
Commanders W (projected home opener)
Falcons W
Panthers L (projected NBC game; 2nd home game)
Raiders W
Chargers L (Thanksgiving Day)
Seahawks W

AWAY
Giants L
Eagles L
Commanders W
Saints W
Buccaneers L (projected MNF game in December)
Broncos L
Chiefs W
Packers L

8-8 - the very definition of MEDIOCRITY.

By the end of the year only about 55000 will be attending games at the new masoleum.

Don't forget to add Dallas...home and away. They are by far the biggest opponent Dallas will face.

I strongly dislike fans like you. You never give any credit to the opposing teams. "We lost because WE played bad." Ever thought the other team might have played well?

I'm not saying we were error-free this year, but don't take away from teams who fought hard for the win, and say it was all us, and not them.

You dislike fans like me because I realize the Cowboys did not show up for the most important game of the year? Because Dallas gave up back to back 70+ yards to lose a potential playoff securing win at home? Because Dallas outplayed Pittsburgh for 55+ minutes, but gave it away in the end?

You have to give the other team credit everytime the other team wins, but that does not mean that Dallas is not its own worse enemy.

I acknowledge Dallas has taken the step from cellar to mediocrity since 2002 but 6 years of not advancing to the next step is quite enough, rebuilding phase should be over.

At least the five games against playoff teams are at home.

But then again only one team that made the playoffs in the NFC made it last year, so who knows?

I wish people would stop with the 'this is a tough schedule' nonsense. Nobody knows what those teams on our schedule will be like come August/September.

One thing is for sure..We wont put up a fight against any of these teams. So the opponets are chalking these games against us as a weak point in the schedule.
