I have never in all my message board years (how ever many that is) have actually seen a poster go from a teams #1 cheerleader, enjoyable poster and over all interesting cat to the most negative, miserable and just hard to be around SOB over the release of one player......

It blows my mind.

1. December fades and untimely turnovers by Tony Romo have taken him from unquestioned next great QB to perhaps our most controversial player now that Owens is gone.
2. Two of our RBs were injured last year and our OC has not had an attack focused on Running the ball.
3. The number one reason why teams could not double team Jason Witten was released.
4. False starts, age, high salaries, and no proven depth.
5. Will Kosier be healthy? If he's not can Holland step in? Cory Proctor still lurks to kill the QB.
6. Shotgun snaps.
7. No changes on a staff that under achieved in 2008.Neither are likely to be voted to the Pro Bowl. They are solid but unspectacular.
8. Opposite Ware is a crap shoot. Will Ellis continue to produce if he is even here? Will Spencer develop into the player we drafted him to be?
9. Can we find someone to fill the other inside spot who isn't ancient?
10. Despite talent there is also youth and inexperience.
11. Injuries and lack of performance by backus in 2008 and an unknown commodity in newly acquired Gerald Sensabaugh.
12. Even with Wade in charge, is this Defense good enough to carry this team if the Offense struggles?
13. Coming off an injury.
14. The Special Teams were so bad in 2008 that an entire Draft was focused on improving this area. Improvement depends on rookies stepping up.

But, conversely and on the other hand, Witten being double-teamed will afford the less-than-stellar Roy Williams single coverage.

I think Witten can deal with double coverage but RW could not. Ever.

T.O. could barely manage double coverage and RW is light-years away from that ability. Not that anyone would consider RW dangerous enough to warrant double coverge . . . .

Once again runing the ball wasn't the main focus last year. Or do you forget the Commanders game where felixed hat zero carries. Oh I also recall MB3 and Felix being injured last year but I can't remember. I also recall that being Mb3 first year to be a featured back since HS and he gets hurt midway through the season. Yeah that's not a fact my bad.

That was a very good original post Hos. That sums up the mixed feelings that most of us have regarding our team going into the '09 season rather well.

As another poster stated, the disappointment of the last two seasons has really left a number of us jaded (me included) and that feeling manifests itself in pessimistic posts or statements. However, I concur that the optimisim is in there somewhere but is buried pretty deep. A good season will go a long way to help it surface.

As the saying goes, winning cures everything.

Point out for me the NFC Team who is more solid. There are some good OTs in the NFC, but it's rare that a team has 2 solid ones. Here, this can help you.
