We already use Kearse and Donovan Wilson in the box a lot, can they be our backup LBs if you want to call it that?

I'm not saying that i'm only mentioning their roles in packages in our defense

...

They already play second-level in base nickel looks all the time, and they run some 3-safety dime looks. In that sense, it will look exactly the same.

Why is Rashad a FA, hadn't even thought about him because I had no idea he was available, he is a stud LB and only 26 still.
What is going on with him?

Not sure to be honest. Seems like a situation where teams are waiting until after week one to sign him.

My thoughts as well, when I saw his name mentioned I immidiately checked his status since there would be no way he would be available, something is up, will have to check later when I have more time, just a lunch break right now.

No doubt he is in the traditional mold, but with 83 solos and 71 assists just last season, I think he is highly serviceable LB even in this scheme for the right price.
That is old school production.

Doubt he wants a big contract, he played for <$2m last yera.

He's a guy you sign after week 1 if you can. Would be an excellent signing for this team actually, but he'd only play in certain situations because he can't cover.
