Assuming he will eventually have to serve the suspension (which is looking likely at this point, however unfair it is), I don't know if this is ideal. I'd rather he come back for that Seattle game Week 16. I have a feeling that could be a huge game.
Ezekiel Elliott - RB - Cowboys
Ezekiel Elliott's hearing with the Second Circuit Court of Appeals is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
The temporary stay granted to Elliott last week does not have an end date, meaning he will be eligible to play until the court hands down a ruling. The fact the hearing is so late in the week suggests the court will not hand down a verdict before Sunday's game, allowing Elliott to play this week against the Falcons. Of course, we have learned to take nothing for granted in this situation.
I wonder how they will handle this for practice? I am more worried about Zeke getting all the reps in practice and then getting suspended Friday night and only giving Morris/McFadden/Smith a day with the first team. I'd much rather have Zeke only have a day with the first team like this week.
I'm still amazed at the fact that both parties can have their motions address so quickly, in my experience things in the court system don't usually move so fast, how are these dockets getting cleared so quickly.
