Orlando Scandrick, clearly our best defensive player

Scandrick and McClain have that attitude and toughness you want in defenders. Sterling Moore has some of that too but nowhere near the talent those two have. Melton and Crawford have made noise on the d line. Demarcus Lawrence and JJ Wilcox are still in the "potential" category but seem to have the right mindset too. Sean Lee is clutch WHEN HEALTHY. I'd love to see Rolando McClain and Sterling Moore re-signed before they hit the market. The rest of this defense is suspect...slow and soft.

We'll need another CB, another pass-rushing DE, and still need a FS this off-season.

Carr simply has lost all feel for playing the ball in the air. He's interference waiting to happen.

alshon should have been flagged for offensive pass interference on that td though.

he clearly tugged carr's jersey to gain separation.

Safeties have played well. Church isn't a superstar but he's solid and he get's his secondary sorted out for the most part. Wilcox has made vast improvements in his second year, I expect he'll only get better. I agree the pass rush isn't great but we all expected that. Scandrick and Rolando are definitely tied for best defensive player. Crawford, Melton and Hitchens are behind them in my opinion.

realistically... knowing the whole D can't be replaced next year...
give me 3 lineman (1 stud, 1 potential stud)
2 linebackers, (one starter next to Lee and McClain)
3 Db's (1 starter, 1 to challenge a starter, 1 to develop)

I would cut Melton and use that $9 million to get Suh to come here. Draft another DE and hope Lawerence pans out next year.
Resign Durant and draft DB's.

Holley said he's lost his confidence. I agree. Holley said a successful football player has to be cocky and think he's the best player on the field. Said Carr is thinking out there. Measuring every step.

In Carr's locker room interviews he seems so meek and lowly. Always holding his arms and rubbing his shoulders.

We need to build around him, get him some real safeties, and a pass rush.

It was Church, with a knee to the back. He needs to be more consistent though. There are times where he lets up and takes a poor angle. Wilcox too. They are average at this point.
