Orlando Scandrick, clearly our best defensive player

Scandrick is a balla. I could not believe when he got that fat contract a few years back. However, O Scan balled out and proved he was worth that contract. Only player worth a damn we drafted and stayed with us in the 08 draft. I'm glad Orlando is a Cowboy and i'm sure Orlando is glad to be a Cowboys.

OS is our best defensive player, and for sure the defensive leader. ROMAC could be, he is the most athletic and talented. But he also misses a lot of tackles, and takes some plays off at times. He doesn't play smart enough.

And he's not fully heathly either which explains his inconsistency. Healthy, Mclain is our best player on d.

I hate it. Church is the man.

The Bears coaches (both Trestman and Tucker) were complimentary of our secondary. Trestman singled out Church, in particular, in his press conference as a guy who really outplays his reputation when you look at the Cowboys on tape. I don't know why our fans don't like him better. He's a try hard guy who excelled at STs and then earned his way steadily onto the roster. He tackles well, hits well, covers well even with limited speed, and is a value signing for the team and a high character guy. I think people just think he's too slow to cover well, and they don't really go much beyond that.

Our secondary isn't really our problem. We're very mediocre up front on defense, and we get too little DL pressure up front as a result. We could upgrade 3-4 positions on the DL next year alone and not bat an eye.

Speaking of which, was it just me, or did Brent look like he had a slo-mo camera on him at the snap all night? Ok power, but I was getting to 3-Mississippi before he even made contact with the OG in front of him.

Mincey is slow................I swear when he does get to the Qb range he always misses a sack.

Hayden is such a waste of space. Rather see more McClain.

McClain is just as talentless but gives inconsistent effort. I have no desire to see him play more simply because I do not like Hayden.

Give me Scandrick first, then R McClain, then Church and, probably, Crawford or Mincey after that. We need a lot of talent, still, on defense.

My list as well. The rest of the guys would be role players on a good defense. Durant and Lee are keepers obviously, if healthy

Wilcox is making plays here and there and improving as well. Crawford is making tons of plays too

Scandrick is a quality piece to the puzzle, but  @ "we need to build around him."

i agree, he is good though and plays with a huge chip on his shoulder, a good leader and a great guy to learn from

all that said his pursuit is pretty bad sometimes in the eagles game it showed a little it wasnt the only reason theat mccoy had a good game but it played a factor he needs to shadow Mccoy and not attack him Mccoy tends to dance alot...if u pursue him well he will either play smart and run outta bounds or try to make something happen by cutting back in either way u gotta stay home and keep him in front of you if not u get those long gashing runs and then they get to run there hurry up offense.....anyways my vote for best player on D is Crawford

McClain can give some semblance of pass rush. I don't see anything from Hayden other than his cleats in the air from being pancaked over and over.

Anyone have the full video (and audio if possible) of his screaming on the sidelines? Gotta love it.

Ro and Scan are our best D-players by far. It's not even close.

We're going to need a whole lot of help on the D-line next year if this defense is ever going to improve.

if you told me 2 years ago Scandrick would be the face of our defense I would have laughed you out the building. Couldn't be any happier to have been wrong about a player.

Carr simply has lost all feel for playing the ball in the air. He's interference waiting to happen.

In fairness to him last night, that was a huge missed call on Jeffrey on the TD against Carr - big time offensive interference

He needs to get his props. He's the DB we all hoped we could draft in past years. He's the overall defensive player you want at every position.

We need to build around him, get him some real safeties, and a pass rush.

He's surrounded by trash. Complete trash. Especially the other bums playing corner.

He's starting to get recognition as a solid corner.

"Man, yall better put Scandrick on Beckam in the second half" is what I was getting during the Giants game.

Just a few years ago, Cowboys fans were calling for his head and for the team to cut him.
And that's why fans don't make good coaches, GMs or talent evaluators. :)
