On the last play, that caused the strip/sack/fumble, if you look the WR's to left were lined up in some type of stack formation meant to confuse the Corners, especially in a man 2 man situation. It almost did, because I remember watching Scandrick discussing something with the other DB before the ball was snapped.

Anyways, Staffords primary broke out, and Scandrick came flying in to take the route away, which caused stafford to draw the ball back.

How many times in the past, has that type of play been automatic vs our D? Especially on third down? He made a hell of a play, and great recovery speed.

I don't know if it was from film, just his instincts to drive on that route, his athleticism ect ect....but it was a great play. We are lucky to have a guy so good, playing the hardest position on D. Slot corner.

I saw that too.
He was so excited after the game during locker room interviews. He's one of my top 5 favorites.

Yep. He's also the veteran presence in that defensive locker room. He was a rally good extension a while back.

I know he had a good year, but Tate is just a guy. He is a pretty good number 2.

I felt like Scandrick would and should have been the matchup for this game, because he was going to contain him.

Haven't watched threat of the film, but Scandrick made it look easy on that last play.

He covered well but his tackling Sunday was terrible. He was responsible or he Bush TD run and missed on Golden Tate before halftime that gve them a gimmie FG. I agree though about that last play. He did a great job on that route along with his coverage on Tate in the endzone in the 3rd quarter. If they score on that play the score is 24-7 and we may have been done.

Yeah, tackling is a technique thing, which I think can be corrected faster vs a guy who can't cover.

Overall you have a point though, just because he can blanket his man, if another guy breaks free and it's just him, he needs to make the tackle.

Eating some more crow here.

Never have been a Scanny supporter.. Still not.

But , damn, if that guy hasn't played some good ball the past two years. Glad Dallas has him.

I may be wrong, but I think that was Church who slipped and fell. By the time Scandrick became involved in the play Tate was already close to/or in the end zone.

Don't know about the Bush TD run, so will take you comment on that one.

Also on the D.Law sack, Spencer the old vet started rushing and then went with rb out of the backfield to take away the last easy option for Stafford, Carter was there, but had taken his drop 10 yrds deeper......them old Vets they see things as they start to happen, not after.

Amazing.....

Can someone post a quick clip of that sequence?

I'm talking about the skinny post Tate ran in the endzone late in the third quarter. Detroit had to settle for a FG when Scandrick had great coverageon Tate. It made the score 20-7. On the Reggie Bush TD he needed to force him back inside where his help was and he let him get outside.
