Scandrick was a hell of a draft pick for us.

A great teammate and competitor.

Overlooking since he's been with us, minus his suspensions, you would wish you had more draft picks/players on your team like Oscan.

He represented very good value and just as 99% of the rest of the players in this league, age and wear and tear make it hard to get paid.

I got nothing but respect for Oscan and I think he gave us a lot. He deserves a bit of respect back from the fans whether he's going to be here or not.

Outstanding post sir. I will forever appreciate my boy Oscandalous for his contributions but mostly for him shutting all of the Mike Jenkins fans back up in the day that though he couldn't sniff Mike's jock.

Sorry you have a point, for the money, he put it all on the line for many years. On the cheaper side as well.... Sadly his body just couldn't keep up with the wear and tear. While I am happy to see him go, I should respect what he did in his prime... Forgive me all.....

This is just more evidence that we are headed into a rocky offseason for better or worse, the status quo doesn't seem to be continuing into 2018... or is it? Garrett seems to be in good graces with Jerry GM Jones so the biggest changes in the coach's ranks will have to happen in the coordinator positions. As for the players, the possibility of Orlando not returning I view as a good thing. He was a waste of a captain selection and wasn't missed while on the inactive list. Dez could be another player whose return is in doubt. No one can argue he didn't have a down year in 2017. A pay cut is almost a certainty for Dez. I suspect we will hear very little leak out from the FO about Dez in the offseason so I will be looking to see what the Cowboys do in the draft as an indicator of Dez's job security.

always liked this guy, but when you can't get on the field because the rookies are better, it is time to move on...as a few others have said, a good soldier for Dallas over the years...I wish him well for his next team

Oh I agree completely with this!!

Fans seem to turn on players as they get older or lose a step, and ignore what they brought to the team for so long. Newman was another example of this. He was a shutdown corner for us for a few years, but like Scandrick, age and injuries impacted his performance considerably. Newman went on to have a good career after Dallas and I think Scandrick will as well.

I appreciate and respect what Scandrick brought to this team for so many years, both in his play and his passion to win.

That said, I do think it is time to move on from him. Like Newman, I wish them well with their new teams (except when they play the Cowboys of course), but it is time to bring in more younger players and see what they can do.

Solid NFL player for us that was never great. We have a marked shortage of great players. Guys who make a play when we need it.

He will be released. I would not trade for him if I was a GM. I might kick his tires as a FA.
