So KM how did we get so many of these 3 and longs...

Well I dunno man the zeke up the gut for 2 yards or gets hit behind the los proceeded by a short dump off pass that lead to nothing followed by oh **** it's 3rd down already should be fooling everyone i swear. Insert this about 6 times a game

I know, another Dak thread but this covers an issue we all have concerns....
I guess the question is whether or not it answers any concerns regarding the interceptions being an exception or a real problem.

Orlovsky is absolutely correct. Dak forced the football into coverage where Gallup was beat badly. Dak has to either tuck the ball amd run with it, or he needs to throw it away. Granted, Dak only had 1 legit WR (CeeDee) all season long, and the run game many times put the Offense in 3rd & long. Still, Dak has to be much smarter with the football.

Not just a Zeke run up the gut, it had to be a slow draw up the middle out of the shotgun with no lead blocker.

The same exact play.

Every dam time.

A guy doesn’t go from being bottom to middle in picks year to year to suddenly being an interception machine for no reason.

There’s obviously more at play to why that happened than “he sucks”. That would assume he was one caliber of player for 7 years then suddenly fell off a cliff at 28. Makes no logical sense.

Dak not hitting receivers in stride for the additional yards also lead to the 3rd and longs.

The logic here (not ALL of Dak’s INTs were all on him (I'm assuming that's the logic, because I'm not gonna read any article or watch some video or read anyone's post on here)) leaves out 1 critical fact:

We judge the number of Dak’s INTs based on what other QBs do, and by what is considered good, average or bad INT numbers. If most QBs threw 30 or 40 INTs a season...then Dak’s 15 would be GREAT!

But Dak's numbers are horrible compared to the other QBs.

So then we get people breaking each INT down because they're defensive...and saying "well it's not really 15, cuz this one was Lamb's fault...and that one was the tight end's fault..and yada yada yada". And by the time they're done, they'll have Dak's TRUE INT numbers down to 9 or 8.

But they won't do the same breakdown of the other QB's INTs in the league.... which causes false comparisons. Because Mahomes or Burrow or Allen ALSO had guys run the wrong routes, or had perfect passes bounce off receiver's hands right to a defensive back, etc. So if you lop off a 3rd of Dak's INTs, then you could probably do the same with all the other QBs too if you evaluated them by the same guidelines....which means by comparison Dak's numbers will still be as bad as they were comparatively speaking, as they would have been had you just not gone INT by INT.

Heck....maybe Hurts actually had ZERO interceptions that were his fault. I wouldn't know...because I only see him when he plays The Boyz... but I'm sure some of the scumbag closet eagles fans in here would argue that point.

So let's just keep it simple: dak thre 15 IMTs last year in 11 despite missing a 3rd of the season (holy krap)

It happens.

Look at Philly.

Wentz went from being the best player in the league in 2017... to utter garbage in a matter of a couple of years....and same age as dak.

Guys can drop off a cliff. Especially after significant injuries

Or Gallup can win his route.
