The more I think about this, the more I am thinking we win Sunday, maybe handily. Look at it from this perspective:

Kyle is 31 yrs old and has the game experience, he is not a 10 year back-up. This is his chance, maybe last, to reinsert himself as a starter for someone else. He should be giddy as a school girl at this opportunity with no threat of Romo taking over in the playoffs.

He is playing with house money. Most do not expect us to win and if we lose, so what, it was expected. However, if we do win and he plays well, things might work out for him in the future. He has nothing to lose and should leave it all on the field. If he fails, what is going to happen? Revert to a back-up? That might be his position until he retires but he has this one last chance to prove everyone wrong.

He will be asked to drive the bus through the running game with a lot of 10-15yd passes and the offense will look different. Dallas is forced to run and the offense might look a whole lot better or it might be a disaster, who knows.

TOs take... :)

I found this particularly interesting:

You obviously want to go in with your starter. But right now, you have to deal with the cards that are dealt right now. So if I’m putting myself in this situation, I’m going to try to make myself available for Kyle Orton as much and as often as I can, and that all depends on the offensive coordinator. He has to utilize his weapons. He has to realize who his game chagers are, who his play makers are and I think for the Cowboys, it’s undoubtedly Dez Bryant.”

Other than that, TOs analysis of Orton doing more with less was dumb.

I think we'll know pretty quick if the guys believe in Kyle. If they come out fired up and playing hard, then that's a good sign.

Seems like an obvious thing to say, but I just mean in terms of the overall team confidence.

That was very very interesting.

But nevermind. Disgruntled malcontent whose opinion is irrelevant.

They'll be fired up either way cause it's a do or die. We will know if they get hit in the mouth... See how they respond... Maybe sulk or get hyped

That is actually one of the more insightful observations made on this site in days about this whole situation.

Again, will Orton play d too?

This is not about the defense. I know I said I think we will win(just a gut feeling) but I think Orton and the offense will do enough to win, just hope the defense doesn't totally suck.

Basically, we will not lose because of Kyle and will not embarrass himself. That is probably going to be left for the defense.

Yeah, this game hinges upon what we do on defense. Those guys need to have their best performance of the season.

This is a simple yet so profound way to put it.

There is so much white noise about Romo, Orton, Jones.

If the defense does it's job, we have a chance to win. It is that simple.

what has me excited is there will not be any bff going on..

kyle will throw to whoever is open..

i expect big games from all our receivers.

especially cole.

If our defense forces us into a shoot out, we'll be in trouble. Ware and Hatcher need to lead our defense with play. This could be Hatcher's last chance to promote himself for his next contract.

I'm honestly more concerned about the defense than I am about Orton and the offense. Orton is no scrub. He can play and keep the offense competitive but can the defense get the stops we need?

that is the question indeed ..

If the Cowboys defense has Kyle Orton chasing the Eagles, Dallas is 'dead in the water' - if they can keep Orton in a ball-control position they have a shot to pull this out.

After sixteen weeks of following our defense I can only conclude that this is more than that unit can deliver. What the Cowboys field is NOT a good team - and I'm just as comfortable with a beatdown HERE as I am with with the first-round beatdown that is SURE to follow. I hope they prove me wrong - but have little doubt THEY WON'T.

Now, how 'bout that draft!?!

That was very very interesting.

he is and it is.

no mention of witten? Gee I wonder why. Maybe because owens blamed his poor play on the two white guys who were better than him in 08 and poisoned the locker room with his racial crap.

Sunday can't get here fast enough!!! Orton is going to do more with more.. lol

I think Orton will play a decent game. I also think guys like Cole Dez and Witten are going to have huge games. I think Orton makes it a point to get the ball to Dez early and often and let him make plays. I think we will see the usual 1 catch Miles and the Jury is still out on Twill. I like the kid but he catches everything with his body, so I'm not sure that works in Ortons favor since he hasn't been practicing with the first team.

Do we know who is going to play LB for us? Only guy I'm 100% about is Wilber who I actually think is playing very solid and with a full offseason I think can be a stud
