I like the player. Think he is a good 3T prospect, I just felt that with Hill and Galimore we were ok at the 3 and wanted a 1T instead. But getting better against the run is always welcome.

What else does anyone want?

Good pick. He just gets grouped w the other two awful 3rd round picks.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hill is either cut or only his last year in Dallas.

IMO, "more like a 3-4" refers to the class of Seattle Seahawks derived defenses that have 2 2gappers. It's unlikely to be a classic Bill Parcells style 3-4, which has 3 2 gappers.

He is a player I am probably going to talk myself into. There is always one. I think a success is if he develops into a good rotation piece who defends the run well and is solid in pass rush.

I just had really high hopes in round 2 and 3 with four picks. Think we came up short in those rounds. In a bad draft, I thought those rounds were the strong rounds to make a mark.

It's a whole lot of misconstruing what was actually said. We arent running a 3-4. Quinn said the base alignment will "look like a 3-4" but finished "But more often than not, most teams – the nickel package, which teams play close to 60% or 70% of the time, are more of the four down men."

generates pressure.
tough.
never quits.
he may push trysten hill right off the 53.
or...is the reason hill takes his game up another level.
 
This was actually my favorite pick. I like him a thousand times better than Milton. Solid dude all around and a great 3rd round pick. It's the other two that were misses.
 
The more I read about Osa and Golston, the more I like it. But I do this every year. There's a player we all question, then the stories hit, then we wind up with hope, then our hope is dashed.....

But that's why this is so fun.

then are we transitioning to a 3-4 defense? if that's the case, that may spell end of Lawrence and perhaps after this year he will be released. he struggled rushing from standup position, so not sure if he is a fit. we tried with Ellis as well and failed....they are conditioned and their muscle memory is to rush from hands on the ground...now trying to teach an old dog new tricks.... gregory might be different and he maybe able to transition to an OLB, given his size, plus he rushed standing up a lot over the past few years....

can quinn coach a 3-4 defense!?

Actually, Ellis had a pretty good year as a 3/4 LB. I think that was his only year of double digit sacks.
 
I like both of those DLine players. High floor guys. I can't see them both not being solid at worst.

Do I have confidence they will be pressure players? Not at all.

But dynamic guys that can hold the LOS I think they can both do and you won't be able to completely write them off in pass rush situations.

This...we don't have the personnel to run the 3/4.

Yep. That 5 tech is more like another DT.

DLaw is going to have to play Leo IMO.

Or better yet, let's trade him for a legit starter all pro caliber DT or OL.
