BTW Colin Farrell must have the best Accent Coach in the biz. I know I can't pick up any of that thick accent when he is playing "American."

Yeah, I remember hearing him randomly after watching Tigerland and was like, ***?

I don't think I've seen any of the movies nominated for anything this year.

I was watching Amadeus earlier tonight though (Best Pic 1985).

I guess I'll have to wait for this year's crop to make it to Netflix.

Best Picture -- No Country for Old Men

I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie. Cormac Macarthy is a great writer.

Fantastic movie. I enjoyed TWBB more, but I can see a clear argument for No Country winning the Oscar.

Of all the movies tonight, I'd only seen Juno, Bourne and Once. I was particularly thrilled that Once won - fantastic movie.

I look forward to catching up this year.

Be sure to check out Atonement. I was very hesitant thinking it was going to be a chick flick, and I didn't think Kiera Knightley could act her way out of a paper bag. But it was a really good movie.

its pretty good.

In a strange way, I liked 3:10 to yuma more than no country. Javier bardem was pretty cool though.

Transformers and some guys at ILM got royally screwed on the visual effects award.

Pirates I could almost understand, even though the VFX weren't as good as TFs. But Golden Compass? It shouldn't have even been nominated really. Harry Potter was the 3rd best movie in VFX last year.

That's funny. I just watched the extended version last night. I appreciate seeing the full version, but sometimes I wish they would keep the movie as it was. There's usually a reason they cut those scenes.

My wife really liked it. I didn't enjoy it as much, but the 3 minute plus continuous shot at Dunkirk was extremely well done. It was like the anti-Michael Bay shot.

Once was very good -- I really didn't want to see that but was so glad I did. Great to see those kids get best song from what is truly a great great song.

I have a feeling that Marty Scorsese bough PT Anderson a drink and told him a story about a little film called Raging Bull....

I'd really like to see Atonement. McAvoy seems to be a pretty good up and coming actor. He caught my eye in Children of Dune, which was a completely terrible sci fi mini, but in which he outshined the entire cast - it was him, a great soundtrack, and NOTHING else (especially a crap story).

And I don't need to mention the greatness of the Last King of Scotland
