Osi & Robbins benched *Merge*

I don't know if they are really benched or just 'not starting' similar to how Patrick Crayton was 'benched'

Love the avatar, Hypnotoad.

Canty's starting now?

Well, it's been fun talking about winning this game all week, fellas.

Do not fear. Buehler will crush Canty.

It should be a little interesting to see how Canty plays on Sunday. For the record I hope he fails miserably.

If he plays like he has been playing, we have no worries. The couple of games I've seen him out there he's been basically invisible.

I don't see this as a desperation move at all. Osi is a great pass rusher but is terrible against the run. Mathias is much better at stopping the run and can get to the passer as well. I think in obvious passing downs Osi will be in the game. If this move was done much earlier, their run defense wouldn't have been as terrible as it has been.

Osi has been hurting all year since the first Gints game where Flozell caught him low.

The Giants D has been awful so I am just hoping for more of the same.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The struggling New York Giants continue to tinker with their defensive lineup, demoting longtime starting defensive end Osi Umenyiora and starting tackle Fred Robbins to the second unit during practice.

Mathias Kiwanuka replaced Umenyiora and Chris Canty took Robbins' place on the first unit during practice Friday.

New York has lost five of its past six games and is hoping to salvage its season going into a key NFC East matchup at home against Dallas.

If the changes remain in place Sunday, it will mark the first time since 2004 that former Pro Bowl selection Umenyiora did not start when healthy and the first time since 2007 that Robbins was a reserve.

Yeah its only them experimenting. It has nothing to do w/ how the two play the run. Nothing at all to do w/ that.

Nooooooo it's an experiment. ;)

A demotion is a demotion.

no, its like the crayton demotion, but not quite as bad, the demotion friday was to get the attention of osi and robbins. Yet, coughlin said that osi and robbins will play on 1st down, 2nd down etc too.

this is just to fire up osi and have him step up.

Why does everything have to be a convoluted conspiracy theory for you? They aren't playing physical enough and they are giving up too much run yardage.

That's why someone else is getting their snaps. The Giants have lost five of the last six. Remember?

I'm sure it has gotten their attention though.

I read in another article that the Giants were all but conceding this season lost, and this was an attempt to try and get Canty some snaps and to see if Kiwanuka can actually get to the QB, since Umenyiora has been doing largely nothing this season.

I'd still take Osi opposite Ware, though!

The exact reason I want to get on top early. We get a 2 score lead, we won't lose.

The giants have become the raiders

They can likely give it up if they lose to us. I don't see them running the table at 6-6. And something's up with Osi. That whole team doesn't compute for me. Of course I'm happy about it still.

Man, this Giants team is just asking to be put out of their misery. If we get an early lead, look for the G-men to roll over.

We can drive a stake through their hearts tommorow and mercifully end their season and what is so halarious is they are begging us to do it!!!

Noway we lose this game.
