Methinks my misremembering, involving another mechanical entity, was from I' Mudd, when Mr. Spock used a non-sequitur tactic to disable the androids (link). It was not a logical argument per se that forced the contradictory breakdown Kirk forced, though.

This will bug me all day. I could have sworn Spock was in a TOS episode, where he locked up another artificial being's thought processes like Kirk did. Perhaps I am thinking of a Data scene from TNG instead? Crap. My brain hurts.
