I agree to an extent, If you think a player is worth the money you don't wait for after week 1. We may see a depth signing or waiver claim before but someone like an Eric Fischer likely isn't signed until after week 1.

At this point the Cowboys will see how it goes in week 1. If Smith has a solid game they'll roll with at LT, if not they'll likely make some more calls.

I suspect there's a valid case to be made that Chuma Egoda isn't the best candidate to acquire for an OL addition.
