We the fans are worried going into the season about who will be the backup tackle, the swing tackle.

I say that player is not on the team. The coaches are trying to give Ball every opportunity to win the job. But when the preseason is over and final evaluations are made, I believe the team will sign a veteran free agent tackle to handle the job.

There was an article in BTB listing 6 players who might fit the bill. They were

Ty Nsehke
Nate Solder
Marcus Cannon
Eric Fisher
Bryan Bulaga
Jason Peters

I think the first two are the worst options. If Dallas liked Nsehke, they would have kept him. With Solder, I believe he is shot and has nothing left in the tank.

The other four are all viable options. I would be ok with any of them being the swing tackle week one. My choice would be Peters, and he's 40 years old. But last year he played well enough that he could be trusted with backup duties.

What are your thoughts? Do you have any other player suggestions?

Id probably go with with Fisher. I don't know how much the others have left. Solder might be cooked

I think Daryl Williams would be the best option.

I like Fisher above all the others! He's likely the best but the costliest. The FO must can their cheap ways! Yes, please, and thank you.

Scrubs and over the hill veterans. Peters probably weighs 400 pounds about now. He was great, but he's 40 and not in a camp.

Fisher's interesting because he's only 31, but why has no one signed him? Does he even want to play, or is he done with football?

I'd be pretty happy with Peters as a backup.

Going by what I hear on the Philly radio stations, they couldn't get rid of Peters fast enough. They are now embarrassed for him that he insists on still playing.

He also gave the Eagles problems about playing tackle. One of the last years he played, he was supposed to play guard. When they needed him to move back to tackle, he insisted on being paid more.

Peters hates the Cowboys he ain't signing. Trade market might be the best approach considering the Cowboys have a surplus at a few positions.

Patriots did want LVE in FA, but idk if Quinn wants to part with him.

Peters wouldn’t last 2-series without injuring himself and being out the rest of the year. Would be a wasted salary cap eating option.

Doesn't matter. Stephen would go with the cheapest. He's not worried about a decent backup quarterback, why should he be worried about a decent backup tackle.

Why is it so hard for you guys to get it straight. Dallas is not bringing any any more players until after week1 so that they don't have to guarantee
a full year contract for a vet. Stephen knows how to play the game and by now most of you should too.

isiah wynn is available... wants to pay RT though... do u trade a tyrsten hill for him?
I'd say zero chance we trade for Wynn. He is making over $10M this year on a 5th year option and looks to be losing his starting RT spot

Fisher is IMO the one that stands out in that group. I'd be willing to bet a contract that last year's performance was due to health after the achilles injury. I think he still has the ability to start. But, I'm not sure he signs a one year prove it deal to be a backup because it doesn't let him prove his worth. Let him fight it out with Steele. Best case scenario for us is Steele beats him out anyway and we have a ST to boot
