per PFT...signed a 1 day contract to retire as a Dallas Cowboy.

Thanks for your years of service, Marc!

Marc Colombo has decided to retire.

Colombo signed a ceremonial one-year contract in Dallas Friday so he could retire as a Cowboys. He spent five years as their starting right tackle before moving aside in favor of Tryon Smith last season. Colombo, who will turn 34 in October, graded out as one of the worst tackles in the NFL while playing for the Dolphins last season.

Good for him...

He has some really good years for us... and I loved his mean streak...

Was just going to say, I always loved his passion and fire.

He played with a lot of heart. I'll always like him.

Congratulations on a great career, Marc. Glad you came home to retire.

It would have been cool to have him and Erik Williams on the same team. There would have been some serious nastiness on that team!

:laugh2:

Good for Marc!

Excellent. Glad if he's going to hang them up, he remembers where home was.

Thanks for the good years, Marc!

Hmmm, wonder what people would say if Newman did the same thing, considering their careers were very similar.

This almost made me tear up. He was my favorite offensive lineman while he was here.

He put all he had into this team and sacrificed himself to protect his quarterback. In the end, his body wore out on him, but not his heart. I'd go to battle with 53 Marc Colombos on my team. Thank you for your years of service to The Star, Marc.

Many fans throw players away like they're nothing, calling them "garbage", and I know I saw Colombo called that more than a few times around here. Looks like being a Dallas Cowboy meant a lot more to him than a lot of people thought.

That never gets old. I don't know which amuses me more, Columbo's hit or the casual way Witten steps over him.

I liked him too. But Free is a better RT at this juncture. He was nasty though. And he had that bum knee too. Great player, I'll miss.

A real warrior.

Wish the rest of the team had his heart.
