:starspin I couldn't help but wonder the same thing myself when we passed on Mendenhall and took Jones. I realize we took Choice a few picks later, but there seems to be a signifcant difference between Choice's skills vs. Mendenhall's. Felix Jones will bring more speed to the offense, and that will be a good thing, but I imagine Barber had a grin on his face, when we passed on Mendenhall though.

Why are we all so worried about MBIII? He probably should have taken the $30 million. We have him this year and next yr by franchising him (if he proves his worth). So we have MBIII for minimum of 2 yrs with 2 young RBs sitting behind him. If he price himself out of the market, we'll draft another RB next yr if needed. Let's face it, MBIII is a good - very good RB but he's not in the same class nor should he be mentioned in the same breath as LT or Emmitt.

This is just business for both sides.

Choice and Jones could make a fine combo. Choice is a workhorse that can pound the ball, and Jones gives you that change of pace and can be an all around threat on the field like say that punk*** in Philly ;)

Barber/Jones sounds MUCH better to me than Jones/Choice at this point.

Did everyone forget the MBIII was a 4th round choice like Choice? Canty is doing what he thinks is correct and I hope he is right and gets a nice contract BUT he is also taking a risk. If he is injuried in the OTA, he will not be getting a great new contract and if the injury is to serious then the Cowboys could even pull the tender off the table.

I want Hamlin and Barber in camp but it is not like this has never happen before. Things will get worked out.

A job in the NFL isn't like the jobs we have. There is a life span and far more risk to injury and having no job and being in a less than healthy state the rest of your life. So don't compare it to jobs such as ours because it just isn't.

Yeah. Shame on them for DARING to try and make as much money as they possibly can at their chosen profession. How horribly, terribly, evil of them.

Remember that the next time you want a raise.

Ok you can get a raise however there a difference between a raise and holding out for money that you are not desvering of.

This has nothing to do with CJ please stop it.

Why a railroad spike? Much different than the traditional apparatuses that folks request one to suck.

IDK i think i heard it some where or something thought it was funny.

** FYI **

Mendenhall has not proven anything in the NFL. He proved he can carry the load for 1 season in college.

IMO Felix has more upside than Mendenhall.

Felix hasn't even proved he can carry the load for one season in college. He has more upside because you don't know what you are going to get with him. He's fast versatile and has the potential to be an every down back.

TheCount;2087991 said:
His comments have nothing to do with Mendenhall, they have to do with his Chris Johnson crush and his hatred of Felix Jones.

Once again your refrence to CJ isn't valid and have no reason to what I have said.

Wow....nothing like putting the cart before the horse. Let's allow this play out.

Yea thats true however I'd rather us not end up paying LT money for a back who hasn't even cracked 1300 yards.

Choice is great and will be great for us I need to see more from Jones before i think he will be like Westbrook but he has the potential.

You say he's not deserving. I doubt he thinks that of himself and I highly doubt that you, or anyone else, if they were in the position to get more money at their job would say "Well this is what I want but I'm not really worth that."

You're going to get all you can, whenever you can, and that is just the nature of business.

Are the salaries insane in the NFL? Sure. But it's an extremely profitable business and the people who work in it are more than entitled to get as big a piece of the pie as they can get.

Rather the average joe fan thinks they deserve to or not.

I don't think you understand how many of us get to negotiate our job contract and if we don't like our salary we just don't work for a year and the get paid what we want your attempt to try and correlate his situation to an average joe person doesn't work.
