To preface...these are just a few names that popped into my head that teams MIGHT be willing to part with if we pony up high enough compensation. I realize that it very well may be better to simply stick with what we have on the roster. Consider it an intellectual exercise...

Matt Jones

Reggie Williams

Mark Clayton

Jericcho Cotchery

Michael Clayton

Anyone else?

Yes, lets trade for one of these third tier recievers and give them a new contract while our best reciever plays on a one year deal. OH YEA!

Pat Kirwin suggested they might go after Michael Clayton

and not the Clooney one either :)

Are the two mutually exclusive?

Don't even tell me you'd take him before Matt Jones!

We'll drag this debate into another thread right now!

When was the last time a reciever was traded and didn't get a new contract on his new team? Just saying.

Sadly, from the Washington Commanders' perspective, it wasn't Brandon Lloyd.

I read that Mcdonald from Detroit is being shopped. Not that I really want him, but I think he might be availiable.

i'll take a bucket of extra crispy chicken before matt jones. we've got enough qb converts on the team already.

C'mon!

Think of the formations Garrett could think up!

You never know who would be throwing the ball!

Mike Clayton had that one really good year then totally fell apart, he might be worth a late round pick.

sorry man - just not in the jones camp. we've got 2 qb's and a qb convert drafted last year and a qb convert as a UDFA. if we need more trick plays, we've got 'em covered now.

if we're gonna bring in a WR, i'd rather we do something that's established. we've got enough "flyers" of our own and playing "flyer swap" on WRs just doesn't seem productive to me. with jones, barber, witten and TO, then crayton and maybe glenn, how many passes will the 4-6 WRs get really anyway?

No problem. I can't expect everyone to share my opinions, right?

That's where we differ. Like Pacman, I don't want to enter the season counting on Terry Glenn for anything. Anything either player can or does bring should be a bonus, not anything to depend on.

well you can but it's not very realistic. : )

well i agree on that part, not relying on glenn. that's why i *do* think jerry jones is still looking. but if he passed on every WR in the draft i can't see him taking a 3rd/4th stringer from another team and taking a chance when he already didn't that when he could have.

i think he'll go with an established vet or stand pat till next year.
