It's actually one big-money UFA -- anything above a certain amount, with no upper limit.

And as others have mentioned, anyone who is cut by another team won't count against our signing restrictions.

Thanks for clarifying. Well that's good to know. I'd love to pick up an interior OL of starting quality who is still relatively young. I wouldn't fuss about picking up a #2/3 WR either. And a ball hawking FS would be just dandy.

I'm not Adam, but I know many teams are going to be dumping salary because there won't be a cap hit for doing it next year.

Theres some rumblings about Alan Faneca who is due a $9.5M bonus soon. Hes way older and would be a stop-gap but he is a fiery leader who knows every OL responsibilty.

But what's so good about him? He put up two 600 yard seasons with Payton Manning as his QB. He has been injured all last year. We get that kind of production from RW and Crayton already. RW's contract is guaranteed and Crayton can also return punts. I really don't see what he'd do here except get in KO's way who I think has a much higher ceiling.

He'd probably be playing the same role here as there - 4th or 5th WR.

What do you want to offer? I would give no more than a conditional 6th rounder if he could get more than 800 yards receiving.

Uh, he's been their #3-#4 receiver, and getting 600 yards. He's been groomed under the most dominant WR of recent times Marvin Harrison, and was fully primed and ready to take over the #1 role before his injury. The Colts had him listed as the #1 WR over Reggie Wayne. They obviously saw something about him that was better than the guy who just put up 1264 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Pretty sure he 1) won't be going anywhere, and 2) would cost WAY more than a conditional 6th.

Adam, do you know if we can restructure contracts to move more of the payout to this year since there is no cap? I'm wondering if it is possible so that when the cap comes back, we will be in even better shape.

I believe the 30% rule is still in effect.

This rule states that a player's salary cannot differ more than 30% for contracts. In other words, Jerry cannot pay a player more than 130% of their 2009 salary in 2010, assuming it is a reworked contract and not an expired contract. I mean, Miles Austin can get paid more than 130% of his 2009 pay since his contract has expired, but they couldnt redo Romo's contract and pay him like 3 times what he made in 2009.

At least that is my understanding of the situation, I could be wrong.

Perhaps he meant "listed" alphabetically on the roster.
