Hey guys would you make this trade? Both of the Cowboys first round picks in '08 and JJ for the Chargers LT.

Yes but they wouldn't plus JJ is a FA when the season is over.

nope.

You can set a foundation that can be in place for 6 to 8 years with 3 more impact young players with cap friendly numbers.

So if you add 3 more quality guys in the first two rounds to go with the young core here already, this team will be a good competitive team for 5 years at least.

No need to go crazy and throw away a golden opportunity with two number 1's.

side note, i think LT is a whiny baby who likes to complain alot and I dont think we need that in the locker room.

At this point I would trade more for their LT (McNeil) than 'The LT' (Tomlinson).

Anyone who realizes that Tomlinson will be 29 years old when next season starts. Look at the history of running backs when they reach that age. They start to decline rather quickly. Tomlinson might have a few more productive years after that, but he might not. The risk of that happening just isn't worth it.

L.T. at 29 is still the best RB in the league.

I'll spot you Adrian Peterson as the next best thing. But he's got a long way to go to reach L.T. status... and durability for that matter.

I'd do it, no question.

No thats way to Rrisky for a RB about to turn 29. RB is not the position that you really go after in free agency to build your team around in my opinion just because of the wear and tear RBs accumulate over the years. You can take that kind of gamble with a WR because thats not really a position that experiences a lot of wear as long as theyre dedicated to stay in shape. With RB its just better to take your chances in the draft with fresh legs.

He was just on ESPN and he said he's not gonna play a long time. The man is 29 and has 2250 carries in the NFL alone. Add it all up and he'll be lucky to be productive 3-4 more years. I'll take a RB in the draft. Besides, you'd have to give more than 2 #1's in all likelyhood.
