I say DE. The bust rate at 4-3 DT is really high, and a core of Hatcher, Haden, Nevis, Crawford could be really good. Add a 2nd or 3rd round pick in there and the unit could be really good. But at DE, we're looking at Ware, Selvie, Wilbur and ...........Just draft a DE.

while i agree with you, keep in mind that hatcher may ask for big money given his performance this year and i am not sure i want to give a deal like that to hatcher at his age
if he walks, DT may become just as important (if not more so) as DE

Hatcher isn't coming back. And he shouldn't be coming back. Not sure what people don't get.

Biggest need is still DE

I would really like to see a 1st round pick used on a QB .......let him learn for a year or maybe even two...

This league is a QB league more now then ever before.....

I'll never understand why people are so willing to get to rid of players who help us win. Let's wait and see what Hatcher actually wants before we announce his departure

Biggest need (which isn't going to be changed or addressed) is a true franchise architect and visionary for shaping the roster and prototypes for scouting.

On the field, the team needs an explosive three technique badly. Truthfully, they need at least 2 DTs with ability. That should be followed by another edge pass rusher, a safety with ball skills, a young backup OT, guard depth and a young QB to groom behind Romo.

Um, you left out QB
Here is why we need a new QB.

1. The QB is the team leader.
2. Tona is getting old and cant win the big games (His personal stats will get him into the HOF but not the Super Bowl the way he wilts.
3. A QB understudy will need 2 years to learn from the bench
4. We need to address the future.

I can agree with 1, 3 and 4. Peyton was said he could not win the big game until he did. Romo has the talent and ability so before writing him off you may at least wait until the career is over.

Can make a case for DE or DT... Me personally would stay DT because Pressure up the middle would make any QB have a long night..

I agree. Getting the pressure and push up the middle can make the job of the DE much easier when the QB has no place to step up into. That is not saying I would turn down a top ranked DE

DL(I'll be happy with either spot, both are big needs), Safety, maybe OG. After these it's backup positions. Need a solid 2nd RB, maybe someone on the roster devolops to that. RB is a position that will get injuries. Even the best we have in the game today don't stay healthy long. Need a bit more depth at LB too.

DE and DT, I'm not even sure that Jason will make it through the season.

With all due respect, you expect the fans and franchise to wait until Tona plays out his career before we judge him? The judgment, up to now, is that he get uneasy in big games and his team is is behind. He will thow pix into double and triple coverage and then we forgive him because, after all, he has great stats. I am tired of his wilting under fire. He will wind up his career with great personal stats. But playoff wins and a Lombardini trophy will elude him and us.

I don't expect anything from fans, once they make their minds up. What I'm saying is his career is not over with and there is still time to win it all. You claiming he never will is about as lame as those who claimed Peyton could not win the big game. So if Romo were to win it all then it all changes? The guy is a great QB and deserves better fans than he has to deal with.

I chose DT over DE, but it's a close call. After that we need another guard, who knows if Waters returns next year and Leary is backup material, I believe.
