Our Coaches need to stand up to Jerry!

That's possibly true, but if he has any backbone, he might say, "You hired me because you believed in me."

But your way seems more likely.

Don't give Jerry the chance to reply with "I don't care what you want." Now, if he said "I am doing it my way." (not giving Jerry room to react), he would have total respect from me....

Like any HC I would hope he will have the ear of the GM. Face it every HC has to contend with the GM and owner, in Dallas it is one and the same. It will fall to Schotty to fight for what he needs and to convince Jerry on matters they may not see eye to eye on.
 
Easy to say as a fan with nothing to lose.

When you’re a particular coach with a family to provide for, you don’t challenge the guy who threatens the livelihood of people he doesn’t even actually employ.

It’s a different subject but it is truly disgusting how he threatens people because he can’t handle criticism and doesn’t think he deserves it.

I am pretty sure as part of the interview process. They have a lot of things already worked out. As to how to approach building the coaching staff, and the roster.

Yes this is how everything worked out: Jerry: This is what we are going to do and this is how we're going to do it. Schotty: OK... That's what every HC since Parcells left did.....
 
Jerry hires coaches whose entire job is to NOT stand up to him. Where you been man

I think they do to a point but get over ruled. But at some point you say ok BOSS and do what you are told because head coach isn't the boss within the organization.

Cowboy coaches don't say squat to JJ because they were all probably listening to 105.3 The Fan Sports Talk radio show the day JJ threaten to fire those three radio hosts after they questioned JJ about his lack of moves in the FA market. The only response JJ wants to hear from his coaches is YES SIR BOSS!

What issue was that? Zeke only carried the ball about 5 times a game, often just short yardage, and it wouldn't have been that much if Rico hadn't missed a couple of starts. He was just a seldom used backup
