I just wanted to give big props to our coaching staff and co. We probably are the best developing team in the league.

I think best developing team in the league is way off base. We've hit on some good one's and failed on others.

1 playoff win in the last 16 years is proof of that

I don't think it's proof at all.

By and large (this is not universal), the most important thing teams do to build talent isn't to hit on the occasional late pick or to develop UDFAs. It is to NOT miss on 1st and 2nd rounders.

I think the OP is right: we've done as well as any team in the league at identifying and developing late round or UDFAs into starter quality or better players. The evidence of that is pretty clear. The reason we haven't done better is our failures in free agency and at the top of the draft.

our failures in rounds 2-3 are what have hurt us

as usual you cherry pick things

How about 2009

2008

etc.

you need to fix your targeting system. It makes the Russian T-72 look like an Abrams

Many different coaching changes within the staff from 2008 to now.

So?

When we get proof on the field and more importantly in the playoffs then one can boast.

I think you can uncross your fingers on Church. He's pretty much a hit.

So some are encouraged, not all of us are jaded about anything pretaining to this team or staff.

...or need to insult as proof of being right.

As well as quit paying attention over five years back as to credits.

well you can't expect to hit on all of them. you do have draft picks and FAs. however, I do think we have done a very good job of finding players and developing them. no doubt. and to the original posters comments, Kudos to the staff.

now, if we could have done a better job of drafting (not like 2008, 2009).

Cherry picking and not proving your case beyond insult. I guess you are now referring to AOA taken with the 3rd in 2010 and back in camp now...:)

Nothing like trying to explain M1A1 targeting systems to a Vet on tanks for 14 years and an instructor on them....you go. As if you were acquainted with a computer self test, laser range finders, and a stabilization system. Much less that the Sabot round had a uranium enriched head on that round.

That's absolutely true, but if you're debating the entire makeup of the team, that's certainly the reason for the weakness.

Early returns on JG drafts have been quite good at the top, I think.

JG has only had two. Dez and Lee were drafted by Wade.

JG get Tyron, Bruce and Demarco, Claiborne, Crawford

I'm only judging this HC who is now in his 3rd year and a DC and many assitant coaches who are heading into their 2nd season. I'm not going to make them pay for the sins of the past
