Our developing staff is phenomenal...

We have done well in the first. We have struggled in the second a d third for many years.

This is ridicules.

Ridicule is the act of making fun of someone or something in a cruel or harsh way.

Ridiculous is that which is highly incongruous or inferior, sometimes deliberately so to make people laugh or get their attention, and sometimes unintended so as to be considered laughable and earn or provoke ridicule and derision.

I just wanted to give big props to our coaching staff and co. We probably are the best developing team in the league.

Too bad our S&C and medical staff isnt.

Honestly I think every team hits on some undrafted free agents and misses on some draft picks.. and Vise versa.. ask the Giants on How Victor Cruz worked out.. Romo and Austin Skews the arguement..

I think you can uncross your fingers on Church. He's pretty much a hit.

I agree with BW1, We gotta see Church on the field before we start crowning. Put your "anointing oil" away, lol.

I don't think it's proof at all.

By and large (this is not universal), the most important thing teams do to build talent isn't to hit on the occasional late pick or to develop UDFAs. It is to NOT miss on 1st and 2nd rounders.

I think the OP is right: we've done as well as any team in the league at identifying and developing late round or UDFAs into starter quality or better players. The evidence of that is pretty clear. The reason we haven't done better is our failures in free agency and at the top of the draft.

Hitting on first and second rounders is a product of good talent evaluation. Hitting big on late rounders and free agents is blind luck. And the proof is in the pudding -- we haven't been nearly as good as other teams. As someone already pointed out, 1 playoff win in 16 years is all the proof you need. And I would even take it a step further and say that we are well below average because we have had a really good QB for a number of years now and still haven't had any success. Kind of embarrassing, really.

I'd say we have had our problems with talent acquisition over a long period of time speaking generally. Without having all the information the Cowboys had for each draft and know what their strategies and thinking was I don't know that you could dissect each draft to ascertain the reasons for failure and success.

Romo and Austin? Both products of Parcells. Where's he again? oh yeah

Thanks Parcells/Payton

Church was an udfa.

The fact that he makes the roster is a hit. Anything beyond is gravy.
