isn't it stop the run on the way to the QB? I thought our line was suppose to think passrush first. If so and we still our this bad at sacking the qb. We need to make some dline first offseason moves.

It is also a scheme that in theory should have a lot of pressure but possibly less sacks. The DEs rush straight towards the QB on most plays instead of looping wide and getting them from behind. This keeps some amount of pressure but gives the QB a better chance to get rid of the ball. The DWare style was to loop around and get the QB by surprise; however, it often resulted in him being out of the play with no pressure when the OT pushed him up-field. The more direct to the QB style also helps with run defense as the loop around style often takes the defender out of run contain.

I'm not saying that it's better, but just explaining what they're doing.

ohhhhh ok. That makes sense. Is this why we don't have speed rushers. We seem to have guys that are more power players than speed rush around the OT

Nice explanation x, that clears up some things. Will be looking for that today then.
I just want them to rattle Sanchez, cause him to make mistakes, rather sacks or hurries, make him throw some picks.

I would still like to see one speed rusher on the roster.

It was obvious why they liked Lawrence in the draft. He played that style in college.

I personally dont expect Rod to solve everything in an offseason or two, but its hard to gauge his success, but i do feel hes had and having success with what he has. The offense has less excuses. We do need that next qb and lots of defensive guys as some should be let go at the end of the seaosn.

Can anyone guage our db coach, is he doing good wiht what he has? under performing? what are we looking at with him.

There's not much talent on this DL, they would suck in any scheme

The guy has made a lot of money doing nothing over the last few years.

Yup....

Clueless as a LDE

How he keeps getting fooled by QB bootlegs and not benched is beyond absurd.

Think about it....Mark Sanchez had a 13 yard scramble because Spencer couldn't keep contain. Sickening....Just sickening:(

We are talking about Mr. Butt fumble himself......pulling a fast one. Unreal:confused:

Go all out on defense in the draft, sign another good WR. Bam, hope restored.

really going to need that franchise QB also, unless you came after Troy Aikman and really dont understand why dallas has been irrelevant.

You're right. The sad part is there's no outside contain. They crash in and rely on the back seven. It doesn't work. They moved Church up and it helped. But that opened up the middle and the flats. Pick your poison with the 'rushmen' attack.
