We have no patience to let players just develop anymore. Players like Parsons, Tyler, Diggs, Dak, Zeke, etc that were immediately great players have skewed peoples perception of what a rookie development looks like. Settle down and let players develop.

At first glance, I looked at the thread title and thought it said 'Our fanbase is so excited' and I was going to reply 'and they just can't hide it'.

I think the level of impatience is partly do to the franchise not cracking the Divisional playoff round for so longer. Some fans' anxiety has translated into hoping any drafted or acquired rookie will be the key to unlocking that closed playoff door.

I get what you are saying. I'm not sure entitled is the right word though. But overall I think, like Dallas East said, that there is a frustration issue where people think there are missing pieces to this team going further and the draft and FA should fill those. When they see top drafted rookies struggle they automatically think we wasted a chance. It is unrealistic but I think that is what it is rooted in.

The best players we have that were drafted high, showed up playing well as rookies in training camp, preseason and during the regular season. The high picks that haven’t shown up as rookies in training camp, preseason and during the regular season never did. They all became disappointments that weren’t around very long.

It has been around three decades since this team has made it to and a Superbowl. Entitled is not the right word.
Impatient is however. Fans need to give players time to prove themselves to be good, bad or just average.

If a few months into a players NFL career is all that is needed to judge a player we would have missed out on some good players while at the same time anointing some others that started out well and fizzled out.

Entitled... Nah
Impatient... Yep

The amount of money players are now making as rookies, especially the first thru third round picks, dictates to teams that they have to be able to start as soon as possible. Gone are the days that teams drafted rookies and they usually sat a couple years before they even started. It was unusual for rookies to start. Teams don't have that luxury anymore since rookie contracts expire in about four years and a second big money contract is looming. So fans have even less patience. It's ok to be patient with late round picks or even undrafted FA....time is on the team's side. And this just isn't a CZ fan forum problem.

entitlement applies for some but impatient or irritated is more the word. We were regulars in the big shows in the 70s and 90s and now we arent. Imagine how Detroit feels. We are guaranteed nothing and ill enjoy it regrdless

I would say too entitled because it’s been 28 years since we reached the Conf championship gm and every year Jerry and son crow about a Super Bowl.

We have a great roster but we need a Jimmy type hc w power to hire and fire. Until then, it will be a miracle if we reach the Conf championship gm.

The Cowboys kind of do this to themselves, though, since they rely so heavily on the draft.

If they miss on high picks, it undermines our potential in the coming years because there is no course correction with FA additions.

So the stakes seem higher with draft picks.

Our fanbase is too entitled

It's sad that that so much of the fan base is so used to the mediocrity shoved down our collective throats by an ego maniac owner for decades, that those of us who think we deserve better are considered entitled. There are plenty of us out there that know better.

I was around for the 90s. I'm not talking about winning games. I'm talking about realistic expectations for rookies we drafted.

This is not the old NFL where you can sit behind the starters and learn. This is the salary cap NFL you better be ready to play if you’re on the roster.
