How many offers did they entertain for Leary trades? Multiples on top of multiples.. & with every offer, they carefully weighed their options and kindly said no. Now we see why they were so dead set on keeping Leary around. Bravo to them!

What an incredibly luxury to sub in a solid vet at a crucial spot on that offensive line. With our reliance on managing the clock again this year, having that Leary luxury is a priceless option. Add to that a 2015 3rd rounder in Chaz Green that's continuing to log quality minutes. Without La'el and Tyron we have performed admirably with quality depth. But just imagine if we didn't have Leary. We would be in full panic mode right now!

Special prayers going up for Tyron and his ailing back. Get well soon big fella.

No credit from me. This is just normal business. In years past we had Berny and he was a solid backup/starter as well. Depth is a magical thing.

Can we revisit the Dline and LB core with the FO now?? ;)

Gotta fix on thing at a time. Next year's draft will be 100% defensive.

But wait there's more look what the Eagles gave up for their QB we stayed the course and took Dak. If the second rounder ends up recovering they will look genius. The less Jerry is involved the more Steven looks like the gm we needed.

it is way too early.

but the credit I would give is for having us at 2-1 and a one point loss after losing two qb's before the season starts

but too early.....

I think they where not getting offered anything more then what they thought the comp pick would be, so why not keep him for depth.

Seems like a no brainier.

I hope that the FA offseason is 100% defensive. I'm tired of waiting for "hope" at every position!

That and the first three rounds of the draft. That side of the ball has to be addressed.

This FO and coaching staff would be riding Kellen Moore right now if not for sheer luck that Kellen got hurt. They didn't really want Dak to begin with. Good for them not trading Leary but it's not time to be giving any credit just yet.

I'll give them a little credit for holding on to Leary. I'm hard on the FO so when they get one right I'll give them their due. Also I want to give them credit for not panicking and resigning Hardy, who got busted for drugs today. This team does not need that negative vibe going forward. They made the right choice with Leary, Hardy, Prescott, and yes keeping barry church who has surprisingly played well.

I personally didn't want to see Barry Church ever again and he's been playing well.

I can't really comment on that situation without knowing what the offers were.

Then again, I'm not desperately searching for a reason to feel good about this front office either.

Not really he's a good player on the cheap. Good decision but far from brilliant imo.

For the record, since people keep using the word "brilliant", I don't recall using it at all in my OP. I said they deserve credit and they do.

So perhaps we can dispense with the word play.:popcorn:

Yeah! They really didn't want Dak. They scouted him, rated him higher on their draft board than anyone else did and then drafted him. But they didn't want him though.

And it would have been a short matter of time before Dak took Kellen Moore's spot. They had only played 1 preseason game. How fast do you think it was suppose to happen?
