Saw this stat on one of the NFL shows yesterday. 4 of the 7 players have already made the probowl, 3 soon will. A truly impressive job by Jerry, Will McClay and co.

It must be Jerruh's grandkid's presence in the war room. Ever since I've started seeing that little kid in there it's been lights out.

2010 Dez Bryant (made pro bowl)
2011 Tyron Smith (made pro bowl)

2012 Morris Claiborne
2013 Travis Frederick (made pro bowl)
2014 Zack Martin (made pro bowl)

2015 Byron Jones
2016 Ezekiel Elliott

That's an incredible success rate.

The drafting in the 2nd and 3rd rounds have been stellar too.

2010: Sean Lee
2011: Bruce Carter, Demarco Murray
2012: Tyrone Crawford
2013: Gavin Escobar, Terrance Williams, JJ Wilcox
2014: Demarcus Lawrence
2015: Randy Gregory, Chaz Green
2016: Jaylon Smith, Maliek Collins

8 out of the 12 currently start or were starters.

Yeah the success indicates we may be close to a special run for a few seasons.

We need Randy Gregory and Jaylon Smith and we will be on the brink of something special.

You became the first person on planet earth to declare our second round draft results as "stellar."

Love the snarky comment, but if you read my post properly you'd see I said the 2nd and 3rd round.

Lee and Murray are among the best at their position.
Lawrence, T-Will, Crawford, and Collins are all solid starters with the potential to be better.
Green and Wilcox look like they're solid rotational players at the very least.
Gregory and Jaylon are TBD.

Carter didn't live up to his draft status due to his inconsistency, but he was an okay starter. Escobar was the only complete whiff.

And with all that first round success I think most of us should be most excited by a recent 4th round selection...Dak gives me hope, as we saw last year you can't just throw any QB behind this awesome line and win, need solid QB play, and Elliot doesn't hurt the team...a good off season spreading some love to the defence and we could be on the cusp of something...

Does this guy realize how hard it is to miss on every second round pick?

Or is he just being ignorant or purpose?

"The drafting in the second and third rounds have been stellar"

That means that the drafting in the second round as well as the third round have been "stellar"

It doesn't mean the drafting in the third round has made up for the crap in the second round...

And that isn't even a true statement anyway

The drafting in the second round has been ****..what don't you understand?

First, picking at the end of the second round only gives your team a 50% chance of finding a starter. Going towards the end of the round 3, your chance of finding a starter falls to ~30%.
https://datascopeanalytics.com/blog/the-chance-of-a-bust-in-the-nfl-draft/

The numbers show us the following outline for finding consistent starters:
2nd Round - OL (70%) LB (55%) TE (50%) WR (49%) DB (46%) QB (27%) DL (26%) RB (25%)

3rd Round - OL (40%) TE (39%) LB (34%) DL (27%) WR (25%) DB (24%) QB (17%) RB (16%)
http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2015/2/20/8072877/what-the-statistics-tell-us-about-the-draft-by-round

From 2010-2016, we drafted 12 players in the 2nd and 3rd round. I even bolded it since some of you had trouble catching that in my initial post. You're welcome.

8 of those 12 are currently starters, or were starters here in Dallas. (Lee, Carter, Murray, Crawford, T-Will, Wilcox, Lawrence, Collins)

8 out of 12 gives us a 66.7% success rate at finding starters. But if you want to nitpick and say Carter didn't start every game and Wilcox is only a part time player now, then fine, 6 out of 12. That's still a 50% success rate, which can potentially go up to 9/12 depending on Green, Smith, and Gregory.

Looking at the metrics above and comparing it to our success rate, yeah...... I'd say we've done a stellar job in those two rounds.

I grouped the two rounds together. Just like the NFL does, they call it Day 2 of the draft.

But you clowns can't see past Gavin Escobar.

Yeah I was gonna say......people are looking at Escobar's name and jumping off a cliff but if you look at those 2nd and 3rd round picks.......you're getting solid starters there. The Escobar pick sucked. I'm not even sure if he can or can't play. It just wasn't a good pick the fact it was a tight end. But you grabbed a bunch of starters in those rounds. You can't ask for much else. You're not going to find a superstar in those rounds all the time if at all.

I know it's super easy to make statements like this, but they just aren't based in fact.
