Besides the Patriots, not team in the league have I seen that is dependent on how well their Oline performs like the Dallas Cowboys.
No amount of weapons or defense being played can overcome our Oline not absolutely imposing their will on teams and leading us to victory.
Look at the Patriots for example. A rookie QB, nearly 0 skill talent, but what do they do well? They block.
Dallas over this last month has had a few holes in the boat. A 1 legged Zeke has nearly all but disappeared and the Cowboys have called on Dak to step up and he just isn’t that type of player.
For example.. Rodgers will be dealing without his start Left Tackle the rest of the season. Do you think it will matter at all for them? Did it matter at all vs the 7-3, now 7-4, Rams? No it did not.
Our run game is our path to success sadly. It has to be established or the threat of it has to exist in order for this offense to work.
So if Dallas want to re-establish and have any hope of winning it’s not going to be Dak or Zeke who turns this ship. It’s all on the guys up front.
Side note: McCaffrey is out for the season.. NFL, especially the Cowboys, do not pay high dollar for RBs after their rookie deal. They’re never going to be that player again and if someone is willing to pay a RB like Zeke 15 million a year than let them do it or trade him while he is a hot ticket item.
"
What do the Pats do well ? " … .they scheme- they coach.
- They placed a scheme that is most conducive to that rookie QB. (ala quick, short range, rhythm pass game)
- They scheme a certain pass route design, a certain run game design, and they have top notch coaches that
specialize in carrying out these schemes, packages and assignments to their players that best fit their personnel workings.
- Ditto on defense as well as they don’t a Revis, or Ramsay, or even a Stephen Gilmore dominate CB anymore, but yet they are either No.1 ranked defense or into the top 3 of NFL teams in that area.
All the more reason why I was so proud of this Cowboys offense scoring big in our big OT win over Pats, on their home turf at that.
- While you're glorifying the Packers, also note that the Rams were already on a losing streak heading into battle with the Packers.
Not only are the Rams finding it tough running the ball, which sets up their vaunted play action offense, since RB Carl Akers got IRed for the year., but that places
more crumbling pressure on mistake prone QB Matthew Stafford.,..
