face it guys, our offense is bad. our team doesnt have the personel for plays more than 20 yards, i cant believe im saying that about a professional nfl team but its true. we're relying on a 7th round draft pick (crayton) and a small built injury prone vet (glenn) for our downfield threats, thats plain ugly. defenses will be able to blitz us all day without any kind of repercussions and with a shaky o-line thats receipe for disaster. who on our team besides glenn is seriously capable of going the distance? thats right nobody, crayton has good hands but his speed probably isnt great. well if bledsoe gets hurt cause our wr's cant get seperation we're in big trouble.. here comes another 5-11 season that we're all used to.

Dallas has not been game planning teams and yes we are running a lot of vanilla right now. This offense will do just fine. As for Crayton I don't care if he was an undated FA he is doing the job and has continue to improve as a player. Lastly you prepare for 5-11 my expectation are much higher than that

There are more posts the last few weeks that offer nothing informative but are just plain whining. The cowboys brought in more than their share of FA's this year, had a very good draft, what more do you expect them to do. If they still end up at 5-11 after that then thats just the way it is, your whining about the situation isnt going to change anything.

Sorry to sound harsh and im not just picking on you, but some of these "hey guys, our team is gonna suck again and here's why" threads are getting old.

I'd wait til the regular season before finding out if we're gonna try throwing it downfield or not. We weren't afraid to go deep last year, so there would have to be a pretty big decline in OL performance if that changed this year. I really think the reason we're "boring" in these preseason games is because we're searching for our RB committee.

I think Parcells has made significant changes to the play book and he doesn't want anyone to know what we are doing till it is for real. If you have noticed we have been playing a VERY basic offense and defense. More so than other teams. He even stated he wasn't going to put in alot of blitzes till he was behind closed doors.

Even with a speed guy, the offense would be predictable. Bill Parcells is predictable. His coaching style isn't really about being unpredictable. He just tries to get his team to be better prepared and do things very well. The offense looked the same with Galloway, Bryant and Glenn as the receivers. You knew he was going to try to establish the run, use play action to throw down fieldd and, try to utilize draws and screens to slow down the blitz. This will be the same recipe used this season.

Besides, Dallas has a speed guy in Morgan. He just isn't a very good receiver at this time.

i know the problem is the coach and i hate watching our offense go out and suck year in and year out. we always run on first down and run again on second (if we got a few yards on first) and usually pass on third (because we didnt get diddly squat the first two plays). i mean are we ever going to be able to really utilize a good wr if we got one? so i really dont want to a spend a first round pick on wr if we keep running this same style of offense.

Let's see, Parcells won 2 Super Bowls with this style of offense, took another team to a Super Bowl, and took another team to the AFC championship with this boring offense.

Where do I sign-up to be boring?

We aired it out last season, and it was a disaster.

I don't care about being unpredictable, I care about winning.

I dunno, RAH. I seem to remember one Mr. P. Crayton getting pretty far behind a few red and gold jerseys in the closing seconds of last season ...

I'm pretty excited about this kid's potential. As you pointed out, we need to fend off the opposing blitz, but if we can, I think you'll see Bledsoe connecting quite a bit with young Mr. Crayton ... and not just on 5-yd slants!

Have you ever heard of Drew Bennett?

And like others have said, we haven't had the opportunity to gameplan against teams. We're basically going out there and just picking plays we think will work in certain situations.

Bledsoe doesn't know these receivers, and has to become acclimated with them. Given that we're a power football offense now, it's going to be a slower time for bledsoe to get acclimated to our system and players.

Vinny passed the ball 58 times in preseason, Bledsoe has passed for 37 so far. By the end of the 3rd game Vinny had already thrown in 48 times in preseason...

That's quite a difference... and an even larger difference is the style of passing parcells allowed vinny to use compared to bledsoe. our passing game has been closed off, they aren't going deep, and they also aren't turning the ball over. They're relying on the defense to stop opposing teams, and they're doing just that.

The offense was actually quite good last year before injuries took its toll...
Look for us to breakout when the real games start...

Its the Defense that has let us down in years past...

That will no longer be the case with the changes Parcells has made there!
Just WIN baby!

The offense will be boring to a point, as BP plays his offense conservative and plays to win the field position battle with McBriar who is MUCH improved over last year and also plays to win the turnover battle with the defense who now has true playmakers and game changers at several spots. No more just running WRs deep to keep Roy away from LOS and doubling Glover on the d-line. Plus Bledsoe still has a big arm and when Julius starts gashing teams and that safety comes up to help out you'll see some deep balls. I think Crayton helps out that scenario even more so as we now have a 3rd WR that is at the very least competent out there.

:signmast: I totally agree with you. It's foolish to come to a conclusion about this team based on preseason. How long have some of these people been watching football? As far as the talent on the team goes, what does he want, 1st & 2nd rounders from position 1 thru 11. Ain't gonna happen. He needs to get out of the fantasy world and step into reality. It's no given that a player who is picked early in the draft is going to be the savior and deliver a team from mediocrity. And it's been proven time and time again that there is good (sometimes great) talent discovered in late rounds.

So, continue to listen to what the talking heads tell you when it comes to how you follow and support your team. But me and others will wait and watch things develop and come to conclusions at a later date. I've watched Crayton and have concluded that this man is a receiver because he can catch the ball with the best of them. He also runs precise routes. And Romo, the guy is a competitor and he is just as good as Jake Delhomme in my opinion. That pass he threw to Crowder down the sidelines was perfect.

There's still work to do and we have plenty of time :star:

See there we go again with the fake pedigree crap; when will people learn it is not where you are selected but want you do when you get here and that inculdes Undrafted FA like Preist holmes and Warner etc.

see, i cant help but laugh at everyone claiming parcells offense works. the guy won a superbowl with it, yes.. but bledsoe was in his mid 20's not mid 30's. players age and with age comes change, bledsoe has always been a slow reactor but now hes a VERY slow reactor and it will probably cost him a career ending injury here in dallas. we're not good enough to accomidate his sluggishness and statue-like ability, buffalo wasn't either.. and honestly i dont see many teams in the nfl who could.

we have wr's who cant get seperation, a qb who takes forever to throw and an o-line that can't block.. where exactly does that leave us? i mean we can can try and pound the ball on 8 man fronts all day long, but that aint going to be pretty.

our defense better be superbowl caliber if we want to go to the playoffs. cause ANY good d will shut our offense down very easily.

yea, theres always a chance of finding a diamond in the rough blah blah.. i dont care statistically im right. what was that stat last year? over 90% of the players in the probowl were selected in the first round or something, yea but draft status has nothing to do with it.. ok. get a clue.

Your entitled to your opinion not all of us agree that the offense is going to be bad. I think Bledsoe will be able to run this offense and Dallas will add much more to the offense when we are actually game planning opponents.

Yawn.

Does it ever occur to people that you can't rebuild an entire team at once? It takes time. We've overhauled the defense for this year. Then we can start working on the offense next year.
