Our offense is boring and predictable...

in the pre-season.

Do you honestly think we'll be seeing as many screens and draws on 3rd and long during the regular season? I don't. It'll be 15 yard Iins to Keyshawn and Gos to Glenn.

Trust me, it'll be a lot more exciting when the games count.

One of the things I liked most about Saturday's game was when they brought Witten in motion and he dropped into the backfield to lead block. Everyone and their little brother knew Jones was running to the left side. He still got 6 or 8 yards. That's what we used to do to teams back in the championship days. They knew exactly what we were doing, and they still couldn't stop it.

There's a lot of stuff we still need to work on, but its nice to know a few staples of our offense are already in place.

What did you think Parcells offense was going to look like?

He always runs the same offense every year. You are seeing a watered down version in preseason again as always.

We have a run oriented and play action offense that employs a game and time consuming offense using field position. Same ole principles as the Bears in the 30s except for the evolution of the passing game.

The only difference in the early 90's Cowboys and todays Cowboys is we don't use a timing based passing attack. Otherwise it's the same ole game. Instead of lining up and craming Emmitt down their throats it's JJ.

see, i cant help but laugh at everyone claiming parcells offense works. the guy won a superbowl with it, yes.. but bledsoe was in his mid 20's not mid 30's. players age and with age comes change, bledsoe has always been a slow reactor but now hes a VERY slow reactor and it will probably cost him a career ending injury here in dallas. we're not good enough to accomidate his sluggishness and statue-like ability, buffalo wasn't either.. and honestly i dont see many teams in the nfl who could.

we have wr's who cant get seperation, a qb who takes forever to throw and an o-line that can't block.. where exactly does that leave us? i mean we can can try and pound the ball on 8 man fronts all day long, but that aint going to be pretty.

our defense better be superbowl caliber if we want to go to the playoffs. cause ANY good d will shut our offense down very easily.

Oh boy...First, Parcells made it to the Super Bowm with Bledsoe...didn't win it. And he got there by a pass heavy offense. Not a dominate running game.

Second...The two Super Bowls Parcells did win were with QB's that weren't so mobile, and heck, one of them was the back-up that year. Parcells can adapt to what he has. And right now, he's working with what he has.

Third...and this may apply to you original post, but predictability has nothing to do with the sucess or failure of an offense. It's exicution of the plays that count. IF you can remember, the Cowboys of the 90's were very pridictable...just nobody could stop it.

And lastly...as you say..."we're not good enough to accomidate his sluggishness and statue-like ability" and "we have wr's who cant get seperation, a qb who takes forever to throw and an o-line that can't block.. where exactly does that leave us?" And then you complian about not having an exciting offense whine about the offense? What do you expect?...Who could the Cowboys have gotten that would have solved this in your mind?

face it guys, our offense is bad. our team doesnt have the personel for plays more than 20 yards, i cant believe im saying that about a professional nfl team but its true. we're relying on a 7th round draft pick (crayton) and a small built injury prone vet (glenn) for our downfield threats, thats plain ugly. defenses will be able to blitz us all day without any kind of repercussions and with a shaky o-line thats receipe for disaster. who on our team besides glenn is seriously capable of going the distance? thats right nobody, crayton has good hands but his speed probably isnt great. well if bledsoe gets hurt cause our wr's cant get seperation we're in big trouble.. here comes another 5-11 season that we're all used to.

My question is what team are you really a fan of?

Lets go over some of your previous posts

You don't like Parcells

You want Keyshwn Cut

you want Barber cut

You don;t like Newman

Dont't like Bledsoe

Don't like Patrick Crayton

didn't like the Henry Signing

don't like Romo

don;t like Henson

You Like

Antonio Bryant

Rashard Lee

Pete Hunter at FS

Trading 2 first rounders for Javon Walker

Wanted Merriman at #11 over Ware
(in another posts said Merriman was not worth top 20 pick and was overrated in another said Merriman was a 2nd rounder and JP Losman woulda went top 5 this year)

wanted to trade 2 firsts for Drew Brees

wanted to trade 2 firsts to Miami for #2 pick for Mike Williams

Wanted to trade for Darren Howard

wanted Plax Burress

wanted Sharper

I like the grind it out, run the ball, run the clock down style of offense when mixed with good defense much better than the teams that are explosive and get into 35-31 shootouts.

Its a great feeling when the D is dominating the other team, your up by 10 and you just keep running the ball for 1st downs cause the other team is exhausted and getting their butts kicked in the trenches.

The best play i saw in the seattle game was when the cowboys went for it on 4th and 2 and made the 1st down running Jones behind the left side of the line. the past 2 years we couldnt convert 3rd and 1, 3rd and 2, 4th and 1. Its more important IMO for us to be able to covert 3rd and short by ramming the ball down the oponents throat, then to be a pass happy, thriller of an offense.

Sometimes when I notice a poster has a lot of threads or posts full of some odd ideas, over exuberance to sign players that normally don't fit our team or we already have plenty of in that position, seems to always stir the pot, does not put too much thought into the post due to the short term conclusions and full of angst.....well I tend to look at the posters age to see if that is a factor.

Many times it is just that factor....I think it has a great deal to do with this case.

Excellent point jobberone ... that's what I like about the way BP coaches. He keeps it basic and simple. Man on Man. Others want people to reinvent the wheel. I like my wheels without the spinners. They look cute when they're moving, but when you strip it down to the bare necessities it should still be able to get you from point A to point B. I like everything old skool, including my football ....

...by the way, what kind of name is jobberone :)

There are more posts the last few weeks that offer nothing informative but are just plain whining. The cowboys brought in more than their share of FA's this year, had a very good draft, what more do you expect them to do. If they still end up at 5-11 after that then thats just the way it is, your whining about the situation isnt going to change anything.

Sorry to sound harsh and im not just picking on you, but some of these "hey guys, our team is gonna suck again and here's why" threads are getting old.

agreed...

make this thread again when dallas is running boring predictable plays in the regular season. we're not gonna go out and advertise what we do...
