Our offense since the RW11 trade

Since RW11 has become a starter, our offense has been consistently mediocre. We've had a few good games against average/bad teams, such as Seattle and SF. However, we've had quite a few bad games, including the Skins game where we only scored 14 points, but had numerous turnovers and mistakes.

I'm wondering if Crayton being out of the second WR spot is hurting this team. Our passing game has been the main culprit in the second half (mostly due to Romo's injury). However, now that Romo is healthy, this seems to be the reason why we can't get things going like we did early in the year.

PS I'm watching the NFLN Replay of the Eagles/Cowboys game from Week 2 and we were awesome without RW11.

It probably has more to do with a broken pinkie, sore back, poor O-line play, and playing some of the best defenses in the NFL.

In the last 7 games of the season, we either play or have played 5 of the top 7 defenses in the league.

We scored 41 points on the Eagles defense, which is now ranked no. 3 in the league. The week before, the Eagles beat the rams 38-3 and the week after the Eagles sacked Roethlisberger like 11 times and beat the steelers 15-6 in a dominant defensive effort.

You mean, with no broken pinkie, no bad back, no beat up TE, and good O-line play, we put up a lot of points?

Interesting indeed.

Broken pinkie was healed fully by the Steeler's game. Romo didn't have a bad back against Pittsburgh either. As for our O-line? Well every team has injuries and you just can't continue to use that as an excuse.

Our o-line is missing Kosier, but it's not like that guy is a world-beater. We still have the other four guys there.

That was his first game without the splint. It may have been "fully healed" but it absolutely affected is play.

Sure you can. Every team has injuries and every team uses it as an excuse, because it's a valid excuse. Besides the injury, I'm talking about just plain ol' missed assignments, etc., from the rest of our guys. O-line play was pitiful on Sunday.

Before Davis last year, Kosier had been the best player on our line since he'd been here. I've been saying that for a while now. It's not so much about losing an above average player in Kosier as it about going to a turnstyle in Procter. And horrible player on the interior of a line can have a massive impact, not just only on his position, but on the guys next to him.

You obviously have not watched Proctor very closely then. Holland and Kosier look like 7X pro bowlers compared to him.

1 chink in the armor can result in a very nasty display by the O-line.

Witten has like 4 different parts of his body injured, Romo has a banged up back and a broken pinkie (PS - How do you know it is fully healed?)

I think RW11 is one of those players who doesn't always get great separation but is more of a WR who makes great plays on the ball (etc. fades and deep balls.) Maybe Romo doesn't quite trust him yet to just throw the ball up to him.

Roy wasn't on the team for the first Skins game or the Cards game for that matter so what happened to the offense there? Can't place blame on him for that & Crayton is always Up & Down. He's never consistent. The games where our offense has struggled ( after Romos return ) are against Playoff caliber teams ( The Skins were on a roll also by the time we played them the 2nd go around ) so you kinda expect it to be harder to score points.

We lost the Skins game primarily because of our defense. We could not stop them and were lucky to hold them to FGs instead of TDs. Even then, we had a chance to win had Sam Hurd caught the onsides kick.

Against the Cardinals, we lost because of special teams. The first and last TDs were given up by our STs.

That's not really an excuse for the offense not putting up points. "Having a chance" doesn't mean your offense is playing well. We had a chance in the Pitt game also but the offense was horrible.

Bad offense hurts the defense because it keeps them on the field. It doesn't quite work the other way around.

We scored 24 against the Skins and Cardinals in those losses. I wouldn't say the offense wasn't producing. Against the Steelers, we were only even remotely in that game because our defense was playing out of their mind. Not sure how you can be tied 3-3 on the road at the half despite having 4 turnovers in the first half.

I honestly 100% think the offense has played fine considering we're on our 3rd string RB, our QB is seriously f'ing banged up ($100? please...), and I think 6 of our last 8 games have been against top 10 defenses.

If we can pull off a win tomorrow and match up against Minny or Chicago, things will "magically" start to look a lot brighter on the offensive side of the ball.

We also scored 24 against Baltimore, the #2 defense in the league, just 7 days ago...with RW11.

I think any struggles since we acquired Williams are purely coincidence.

You gave reasons for those losses but still think Roy is the reason we've struggled on offense since joining the team? There's no guarantee that if Crayton was in there instead of Roy that the offense is going to do better.

Wasn't for Roy scoring that TD in the Bucs game, we'd be in much worse shape right now, if not already eliminated.

this guys a genius ...hes figured it out...........RW11 has ruined our offense.........it has nothing to do with all the obvious reasons.....turn overs...penalties....cant block.....injuries.....bad play calling.....drama...dropped passes....bad throws....Brad for 3 games.....we can all relax now its not as bad as we thought...we just need to bench RW11
