Our offense without Bennett?

How do you see our offense evolving without Martellus Bennett who received a great deal of snaps? (I'm not positive how many, so if anyone has that number I would appreciate the input).

Will Fiammetta have a larger role? Will Phillips inherit Bennetts snaps? Will Witten be asked to stay in and block more? Will we move more towards 3-4 receiver sets? Perhaps I'll get my wish and we'll incorporate the pro set with Felix Jones and DeMarco Murray. I would love to see some option between the two of them, similar to what they were doing in Denver. At least as a wrinkle in our offense. It would be awesome to see a pro set with Fiammetta, Jones, and Murray.

We'll be okay without him catching balls and tossing them to defenders for INTs or Tony having to tell him where to line up.

Phillips and Fiametta will assume larger roles and I'm sure we'll either draft or sign another TE for depth. As long as Phillips can be a solid in-line blocker, we'll be ok.

I'd like to see us make a run at an athletic "joker" tight end similar to what the Patriots have in Aaron Hernandez. I think Phillips is sufficient enough as a blocker when we need to go two tight ends at the goal line, so I hope our 3rd TE in 2012 is someone that can cause true mismatches.

I assume by joker you mean wild card. We had a joker at TE.

We're never going to be like New England. Outside of Wes Welker, they don't have any receivers. We have Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, and potentially Laurent Robinson... all of which would start ahead of anyone not named Wes Welker. Not to mention Jason Witten.

They use their tight ends like they do, because they have no choice otherwise.

There is no room for a 2nd pass catching tight end here. That experiment is over now. And I hope that opens things up for us in different ways.

I'm not saying we won't get another tight end, he just won't be as focal for our offense as Bennett was.

We need to start thinking about Witten and his career coming to an end. I know he isn't there yet but in a few years he will be getting close and it's not a bad idea to start integrating someone into the offense who can handle that. And with Witten getting older the chances of injury are getting greater so I do think we need to see if someone who can come in and be that guy is available.

did john phillips sucked at TE or something why do we need another TE, wait til there is an undrafted one and id be happy with Witten and Phillips in my book.

the guy was a good blocker, but did nothing in the passing game. We wont miss a beat without him.

I agree. Phillips will assume Bennett's responsibilities as an in-line blocker and catch 20 passes. We'll use the FB a bit more. We'll probably draft a TE or look for someone cheap in FA as a developmental/3rd stringer.

Look at the college BBall rosters.......look for a power foward without NBA skills that has at least h.school football in his book

That is essentialy what San Diego has, Graham in N.O is, what NE has 2 of...

Bring em' in and develop at least one of them.......strech the feild like nothing else, at least to be ready when Jason hangs up the cleats

I say just draft an excellent blocking tight end who isn't known for catching many passes later in the draft and use him to replace Bennett's blocking. Not like we are going to be missing his pass catching abilities.

I would like to see Jermey Parnell get some snaps at TE. He was a college basketball player and has very quick feet for an OT. It seems that he could do what MartyB did...be a good blocker and occasionally catch a short pass. He is going to be active on game day as the swing tackle anyway.

Or how about finally improving the oline to where we don't need to keep a TE in there to block nearly as often.

Kind of interesting. I am actually intrigued by this guy, more at T though, but if he could catch.
