How good is it? I think this may be our biggest weakness but I'm not to sure I know we can run block however I am very skeptical on our pass blocking abilities. So if anyone has access to the stats from 2007 that would be interesting to say the less.

only as good as your weakest link (Kosier).. with Houck taking over the o-line i'm not too concerned with zone or pass blocking

for the most part, with the exception of a few games, i thought the pass blocking was pretty spot on last season and that the run blocking was less than stellar.. i'm more concerned with rectifying the penalties

I also thought that the pass blocking overall was pretty good(though Romo's mobility helped in that area), it was the run blocking that was lacking. Houck should be able to make them better at both, I was never impressed with Sparano's work with the line.

Run blocking is easily a bigger concern than pass protection.

Our pass blocking was very good most of the year, our run blocking was pretty inconsistant most of the year.

IDK if our run blocking was the problem but IDK but still seeing how many times Romo was sacked hurried pressured isn't a bad thing.

Not trying to be picky here, but isn't Houck more well-versed in the power run game and not the Zone scheme?

He was sacked 3 more times than Brady and Manning last year.

He put up record numbers passing behind that line, so I don't think it was much of an issue.

Agree 100%. Plus with Romo we always have a shot because even if the pass protection breaks down here and there the kid makes plays outside of the pocket.

As long as people don't ever start comparing the pass protection to anything that the Texans were doing a few years ago I am not that concerned.

We were sacked 25 times last year....good for tenth fewest sacks allowed in the league.

We allowed 37 sacks in 2006 (20th).

We allowed 50 sacks in 2005 (29th).

Notice a trend? I do, and the addition of Houck....

yeah were gonna go back to mauling and man-handling the opposing defensive line. no more of this finesse crap. this team has to get mean again.

One of the things about our passblocking is that Garrett's scheme requries a very good OL as many of the routes take quite a bit of time to develop.

well one thing to remember about Houck, he likes big guys with big rear ends.

I think Houck will push Flozell Adams, i think thats one of our main problems, ilts like we dont have no real leader on the offensive line, with Houck pushing Flozell, will only make him better, and reflect back to the other offensive linemen

Then, the Cowboys are putting James Marten at LOG, he is mean and nasty. Also Marten played LOG his first 2 years at college. This will only push Kosier to play harder. Then, we have of course Bigg, huge Leonard Davis, he didnt get to really get into the offseasoning conditioining, if he did realy work at it this, I am expecting big big things from Leonard.

Then, we have athletic offensive linemen Doug Free at LOT, he did fair last year, and can only get better this year. Columbo will battle it out with McQuistan, I hear McQuistan is big and nasty.

So, I am thinking now our only weaknesses this year could be our backup at center, remember now, Proctor got pushed around some when Gurode was hurt some.

Then like most of the guys are saying, with Romo being elusive and scrambling, etc, will help our offensive line too.

What?? Its the other way around. Our pass blocking is very good, our run blocking is suspect.

You've got to be kidding me. Did you watch any of our games this past year?

Try the opposite of what you said, and you've got an accurate assessment of our Oline play.

Our Oline is fine during the regular season...it's the playoffs where our Big fat guys tend to fold like lawn chairs.

yea i get see the trend however just sacks doesn't tell us everything. Tony Romo mobility does make up for some of the stuff IMO.

We also was 16th in the NFL for pass attempts so what should us being in the top 10 of sacks allowed say?

You asked for opinions and stats.

You then ignore the opinions and stats given. Good stuff.
