Our "D" is just......BAD........

Ware and Ratliff were the only ones capable of generating any pressure on their own.

Roy Williams is just plain bad. He was awful at LOS and inaffective blitzing and even worse in coverage. Ive been a big fan of his but he was completely exposed by the Giants. He was out of position on all 3 of Burress' TD receptions.

The offensive line played great. I cant remember the last Giants game I watched that I couldnt remember Strahan's name being called once.

I would add Spencer to that list...;)

how in the world did roy get 5 picks last year...his coverage on that one plex td deserves him the title as the worst safety when in coverage in the nfl period.

our efense was offensive tonight....it was brutal to watch....

ok i have a small solution. put reeves at the line in press coverage...drop hamlin or watkins behind him for support. leave henry in single coverage....

keep roy in the middle of the field near the line of scrimmage to help with the run, TE, and short passing game.

of course plax had a career night, reeves played 15 yards off him at the snap of the ball.....you cant do that and be successful.

I thought Spencer play solid for his 1st game as a rookie. I am happy with his play so don't get me wrong he will get better and him and Ware will be a great future for us.

Wait we have not had a good outing since the Indy game last year with the defense. Sorry until they prove other wise the defense sucks and no amount of talking will change that

:fact:

There is no excuse for how bad the D performed tonight. The offense pipcked up the slack with Glenn out. The D must not have gotten Wade's message that injuries are not an execuse and that you have to man up and play the game.

I want to make clear I'm not blaming the coaches at all. This is a great scheme, but man at some point you have to have someone make a frickin' play. They didn't even double Ware to my knowledge: still nothing. In my mind Spencer had a better game. I'm glad we won, but..........I live in Michigan and probably will go to the Lions/Cowboys game..........good god- get better Newman!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bang2:

Well, it's kind of hard when you're being held. That's why it's a penalty.

That's a stupid excuse to me. And they probably call it if he really was getting held. If he and the rest of the front of our defense continue to play like that teams will keep putting up good passing numbers on us.

I love reading how most people are blaming RW tonight when like I said in the GDT that the entire Defence blew chunks tonight and thats putting it nicely...When you give the receivers a ten plus yard cushion they are going get picked apart big time... How bout sticking the guy at the LOS for a change.....And before anybody says it Glenn wouldnt have made any difference except probably wouldve gotten burnt more

At 38-22, the Giants were in obvious passing situations, yet we still couldn't lay a finger on Eli. That's very disturbing.

time to let hamlin have a great year then trade roy w for a 1st round pick...move hamlin to SS and start Watkins next year...roy is just too bad in coverage for us to keep him..he is terrible! just terrible! and really isnt an impact in the running game anymore...love the way hamlin plays though....

I don't think there's a team dumb enough in this league to give us a first for Roy Williams. I have no problems perhaps shopping him around, but we ain't gettin a first.

Why is it an "excuse"? Ware got some good pressure on a lot of plays.

I've seen several games where Ware has been held and it hasn't been called. It's not the first time.

Our defense didn't play good, but pointing out that Ware was a problem because he didn't make plays isn't factual. I think Ware is the least of our concerns on defense.

When the D blitzes it looks like they are running into blockers ON PURPOSE. 3 times tonight I saw lanes open for a defender to get thru and the guy ran right into the blocker instead of avoiding him and squirting thru the lane. What the hell are the Boys doing on D?

And RW, nice Claude Rains impression.
I'm sure they ran into the blockers on purpose. LOL. Give me a break.

our defense tonight was flat out garbage except for a couple players. obviously Roy led the way but he wasnt the only one. If Newman doesnt come back soon fully healthy we are gonna be in a lot of high scoring games no matter who we play!

I know you'll probably get blasted for this, but I too was a HUGE RW fan, but i'm just plain tired of it. I can understand if he at least make tackles, but he's starting to miss tackles now and that's unacceptable for a 1st round safety. I agree we need to do something about RW, I never thought I would say this, but I think he's becoming a liability.

I'm not pointing out just Ware all of the DL and LBs stunk tonight. Spencer was the only one that made any plays on 2 plays. Canty made one play and Ferguson made a play early on. That was really it. I can't even think of a play that any of the LBs made all night.

are u serious think about what plax did even when he was given a ten plus yard cushion..think about what amani did to roy on that almost TD..think about how much roy sux when plax scored the 2nd td..if our corners moved up on them they woulda put up close to 50 points on us easy. u think reeves can bump PLAx??

Indeed. Thank God Miami doesn't have a high-octane offense. We can't go into Chicago two weeks from now needing a win.

The Giants have a talented offensive team, a very good offensive line, and their QB played great tonight.

Yes, the defense could have played better, but Reeves and Jones both made some plays...I'm going to give the Giants some credit. What do you think they're saying about their defense?

Oh yeah, Chicago with that potent offence... Rex Grossman
