Trade Pickens and draft a WR. Spend the $30M on Defense.

Lamb, Flournoy and draft a top 5 WR.

If we could trade him for Maxx…Maxx next to Clark, Osa and Q, bring back Clowney…..our line looks NICE. Then draft best corner available, pick up some free agents at LB, Overshown will be full strength, Revel will be full strength….i think that with our new DC and we better, even if offense takes a bit of a hit. Might be very worth it. Maxx would be tough to get though, so might be a pipe dream lol.

After we will sign Pickens, J. Williams, Aubrey, Clowney, Hoffman or Bass, how much money will be left over for defense?

Need $10M roughly for rookie class and will need at least $8M heading into the season for emergencies and we are currently $29M in the hole. So that is roughly $50M just their alone.

2 1st round picks ain't going to do it.

Make it happen. Eagles do. I’m just not buying the pie crap. All of those guys can walk for all I care. Pickens is priority. If you need to let all those guys walk to get defense then do it.

The Cowboys won't draft a WR high enough to fill Pickens shoes.

And why not?
Apparently they were targeting and prepared to take Tet McMillan last year going into the draft.
If someone wants to trade a 1st and 3rd for Pickens then take the picks.
Target Lemon at 12 and enjoy the 5 seasons at rookie pay.

With 4-5 new starters at DE, LB, S, and CB in FA, draft and maybe a trade, a new scheme, with our DTs, Overshown and Revel back healthy with a full off season….i think we definitely improve enough to be competitive though. Would all depended on all 4-5 being very solid starters though. I think our scheme and D coaching was awful and really contributed to it sucking lol.

Who said that we can't build the defense without destroying the offense? We can certainly fix the defense without getting rid of Pickens.

When our number 2 was a combo of Gallup and Cooks in 2023…..we had the number 1 scoring O in football….we don’t NEEEEED 2 number 1s to have a good O when we have Lamb, a good TE and running game (Flournoy had some good outings when Lamb was out, hands catcher, decent route runner and blocker, hard runner after catch)…..if we needed to sacrifice Pick to get a D upgrade beyond our current picks and FA, it won’t be the end of the world offensively. Want to keep Pick, but prefer to upgrade D….having 2 number 1 WRs didn’t do a dam thing as we missed the playoffs with that and no D.

Dude. You can have Pickens (and THE best man-beating tandem in the NFL) and have defense. The Cowboys can free up over 100 million with restructures and releases. This false dilemma is getting pretty comical at this point. You even have guys wondering if we should draft a RB or an OT with the first two picks. The silly off-season is definitely underway.

Depends. Do you consider Devonta Smith and AJ Brown highly paid? If so? They won just a year ago.
