Our return game

It seems like Stanback will be returning kicks, but who will be back deep w/ him? I guess the obvious choice would be Austin, but if his role on offense increases, I have a feeling he'll be pulled from return duties. How about Jenkins, will he be the other guy? How about Felix? I doubt it because he figures to play to big a part on our offense, but wasn't his return ability one of the reasons why we chose to draft him instead of some other quality back?

On punt returns, I figure Adam Jones will get the most opportunities, but if Amendola makes the team, will it be a committee between those two?

on punt returns we have pacman, newman and crayton.

Those are two pretty good units.

I am getting the feeling that they rather not put felix out their to return kicks-as he will be too valuable-I hope to see him atleast alternate with stanback to return kicks.

No I cant imagine he would do that in the preseason, although he may get one now that austin probably will miss the rest of the preseason.

Frankly, I think Scandrick ought to get another look.

Stanback has great speed, but so does Scandrick. And, Scandrick has looked a little more elusive on his returns.

I would put Felix back there and see what happens, he did it in college, he can do it here.

Me too.

Scandrick and Felix with Austin as an alternate on kick returns, and Pacman on punt returns.

I want to like Stanback so badly, but just have trouble doing so. Seems un-natural returning kicks; only really shines if there's a lane and he can just burst through it. Very little lateral movement, wiggle or overall vision IMO. I could be crazy, but I think the return game is something where a player either has "it" or doesn't. Playing receiver is a whole different issue and is something Stanback might become great at in the future. Don't see him as a standout returner though.
