I only mentioned 2007 because I thought we were the best team in the NFC. The best team doesn't always win. But I like the feeling going onto the playoffs that we should beat anyone. Doesn't mean it's going to happen. And I haven't had that feeling since 2007.
The feeling in 2007 disappeared the last month of the season for me. We limped into the playoffs literally and fell apart. Offense was terrible that last month of the season. As opposed to 2014 and 2016, we were playing excellent ball going into the playoffs. Especially 2016. That for me was the last time I had true hope. 2018 we were hot going into the playoffs but I knew the road was going to be too much needing to win back to back road games against Rams and Saints to get there after beating Seattle.

I had no real faith the last 2 playoff seasons of 2021, 2022. We were fortunate enough to play a soft Tampa team first round.

And I love what the defense is doing now but until they can do this when it matters against SF, I have reservations. They wore down last year in the 2nd half and SF just exerted their will on the ground. Diggs drops a very easy TD that changed the whole landscape. For some reason when we play SF, we play scared. Absolutely has to be different this year for me to change my mind about where we can end up this season.

2019 was mentioned, too. And that began like this year. Until we played the first real test in the Saints and looked bad. Season went on a huge skid from there.

Would’ve called a different game Plan if we needed a touchdown, field goal was sufficient. You have no idea what’s happening out there do you
Thank the heavens you are here to show us the light.......................:banghead:

play Niners, Seattle, Miami, buffalo Detroit etc. WTH. Rough - we didn’t even win division. No gonna be easy.
You rather the Cards, Rodgersless Jets, and an awful Giants team type of games? Not me ... to be the best you have to beat the top tier teams. Let's not start our excuse agenda going into weeks 3... let's focus one week at a time and win.

They might be scared having to face this defense, but no one is scared of the Dallas QB. The way the offense is going right now the rookie kicker could end up leading the team in points scored. Gotta get the ball in the endzone more.
LOL!! Pappy gave you a like!! You guys are hilarious!! Like the three stooges, except there's about 5 or 7 of you guys....:lmao::lmao:

I hear you. I mentioned this in some other thread, or even this thread, I don't recall. But I said I was not yet convinced. It's only 2 weeks. I may think this feels different, that's until it doesn't, like many other years. I want to see this team beat either the Eagles or 49ers at their place. I'll be happy if we go 1-1. Then I'll start to believe.

So you're saying MM was intentionally going for FG's? Please tell me that isn't true.

Yeah, Pappy rolls off the tongue. I respect some of your opinions, I think....I can't think of any right now, but I'm sure you have said some smart things that I respect. Let me turn around, don't want you to waste your kisses.

MM has very little faith in our offense in the Redzone and it showed BIG TIME!
Expect more dink and dunk and FG after FG after FG after FG.
This is the new Texas offense..............ZZZZZZZZ....ZZZZZZZ.........wake up PAPPY wake up will you!!!! :muttley:

Appreciate the spirit here, but I would phrase it differently. I am very much NOT tired of being regular season winners. What I am tired of is being post-season losers.
Irony here is 1 more regular season win and you likely also have 1 more post season win in 2022.
Dallas having to go on the road twice, cross coasts and play on 6 days rest was an insane burden few NFL teams have to face.

So in what you can to drive the higher seeds and home games.
Then go try to win in the playoffs.

But if you lose 2 starting OTs and 2 starting CBs it will really be hard as it was last year.

Who and how are they going to shut down our defense? That's the question. I don't see anyone slowing them down.

No game in the NFL should be a cake walk, but every now and then you get an easier matchup. Just because on paper our schedule isn't littered with bottom feeders doesn't mean were not going to get the outcomes we want.

There are a lot of games on the schedule that we should win, but won't be easy. Then there are some we face what looks like an equally good team and probably we split some of those. Frankly I rather battle test this team than walk into the playoffs with having had a puff schedule.

Oh lord, it's hard to be humble, when you're perfect in everyway...

I was in Germany listening at our unit bar in Brandenburg, Germany to Freddie Fender live, singing Last Teardrop Fall!

That’s a good thing.

Even if you lose tough games, you still want to at least play them before the playoffs.

I care less about seeding and more about being battle ready come January.

Freddy's real name is Baldemar Huerta. My dad used to hang with him from time to time, back in the day. He's from San Benito
