Twitter: Our Starting Running Back come Week 1

Javonte Williams will be the starting RB week 1. I don't know that Blue will ever really get starter touches but he could be a real weapon as a role player.

Either way he's better than Tony Dorsett.

That's the only issue I'm worried about with him. His hands were in the 6th percentile amongst RBs recorded at the combine.

He has a similar hand size to Kenny Pickett, who was a fumbling machine in college.
i'd imagine hand size is far more of a factor for qbs. hoping so anyway.

Actually, it's not it's a wide-open competition it's tbd that's what camp in preseasons for that's the fun part nobody is anointed right now but it wouldn't be surprised me people here are underestimating this guy I could tell by the replies...

The man is not small the man is not a gadget player the man can be a starting running back however he's a lot like Tony Pollard there's a lot like a guy like Reggie Bush or Kamara they are better coming in as change of pace backs not leaned on as three down backs or considered starters but he should get a bulk of the carries something around 40% but they should be very well designed plays to optimize his skill set..

Anybody thinking he can't be the starter he's the same height weight and has the same speed as Gibbs I know that's a comp that's hard to see digest around here but it's true he's not much smaller than Emmett Smith we've already had this conversation I wouldn't bang on him early in his career I would not want to wear out blue but he's a lot more than gadget player he's looked at it like ****** balling around here no he should be looked at more of a Tony Pollard a Reggie Bush or a Kamara who are all better when they were sharing the load evenly or getting about 40% of the snaps but this man needs to be on the field this is not lucky Whitehead..

Blue is the only one with must of a chance to be a real difference maker, so I say load him up, give him 15 carries a game from the beginning and see what happens.

IMO, none of the others have shown enough to believe they are going to be able to carry the load.
Not going to determine that right now and I'm saying he should get about 40% of the running snaps sharing the load yes but no way you're making this guy into a every down starter he can't be wore out like they did Tony Pollard but yes I people are underestimating his skill set and he should be on the field as much as he can handle but he is a rookie he needs to work on his NFL body he needs to learn the offense and he needs to not fumble.

We'll see how this works out that's why I like camp we get to see camp in preseason games and they will wear him out in preseason to see what he can do he can make his mistakes in preseason.....

That's the fun part of this preseason more than last we have a lot of rookies and first year Cowboys you know the free agents like Sanders and Williams that are going to get a lot of work they're fighting for limited space on this team and that's going to be fun to watch..

The best thing for the team will be if the 2 rookies are the backs.
Don't count out Williams, and Lupke will have a definitive role too. To me Sanders is odd man out, Deuce probably PS guy.

Mafah vs Lupke will be an interesting camp battle. Mafah will have to show something on teams though

Lies Risen lol, you know how this will play out, it will be Pollard 2.0. He'll truly be the better back, but then will finally get a chance to show the world that he's a number one, and he'll then get franchised, then will sign with Tenn
