if we can hang with philly and make it close we might be able to make the playoffs and go far.
but these victories against the chargers and 49ers doesnt mean squat if we cant hang with the big boys. im a die hard cowboy fan but im trying to be realistic.

Well one could go so far as to call San Diego a "big boy" if what you consider a "big boy" a division champion. I think our loss to the Commanders was paramount because now we don't have a lock win at home against any divisional teams. We'll be lucky to win one home divisional game. I think if we have a .500 record within the division this year we have pulled off a pretty big accomplishment considering the situation we have put ourselves in here. The Giants sure as hell are not a guarenteed victory home or away let alone a sweep, the eagles (we'll see what happens), the Commanders away is really our only lock victory as far as divisional games go.

I pretty much agree...we have to beat them in our building and at least secure a split....also Bledsoe has to play very well against their defense. If they come in here and spank us I won't feel so good about our chances.

I know they pummeled the 49ers and we had to come back late in the 4th quarter to beat them...but I don't believe that is an accurate gauge of how good we are compared to them. They 49ers have played well in two home games, the Eagles were coming of a loss at Atlanta. We'll see what happens next sunday though.

I would agree that is a big game but I don't think win or lose will determine the fate of this team. We will still have the majority of the season ahead and another meeting with Philly, as well as some other good teams on the schedule. As for the victories aginst SD and San Fran I think they do mean a lot I think every W this team can get means a lot to their confidence and it shows that the work they are putting in does make a differance.

Like it was last Monday night...nothing is a lock in the NFL nowadays

During half time while at the 49ers game, I leaned over to my brother in law (Portland Fanatic) and said that our entire season hinged on the second half of this game, especially after Monday's night debacle. The Boys outscored a tough, pumped up (at home) 49ers team with a 22-7 second half score and a 15-0 4th quarter. Much like the game of football itself, the season is based on momentum, and the Boys answered and showed heart at Candlestick on Sunday. You hate to base a season on a second half of football early in the year, but I say, remember that half and build on it! Doing what the Boys did on the road against any team in the NFL was a huge accomplishment. As much as the home loss to a divsion team (especially Commanders) hurts. The two away wins feel just as good. Our division is no push over this year, and that is a concern, however nobody said it was going to be easy. We just need to get the wins where we can and enter the playoffs with some degree of confidence. I'll be at the Raiders game (avoiding the Black hole) routing for our Boys. Ohh the life of a Bay area Fan!

Philly is a great team. Until we can beat them in our building we aren't in their class. I wish this game were later in the season as I think our D is going to start to be something special the 2nd half of the season.

I would say that this weekend could determine the future of this team. If they go in and beat the dreadfully defensed Raiders soundly. The "could be 0-3" comments will cease.

One game at a time.

Not really. Even if we win the pundits will be saying "..well they haven't beaten a team with a winning record." ...etc..etc..! :(

I think it is important to this team to be able to beat philly does not matter if it is Texas Stadium or Philly. I do know that a good coach would never tell his team this is your season based off 1 game with the majority of the season still ahead of you. Win or lose that game aginst Philly at Texas Stadium will still only count as 1 W or 1 L, no doubt a win could instill a lot of confidence but you don't want a loss to cause your team to give up

We played Philly real tight in the 2nd game last year. BP is figuring the Feagles out.

Injuries to our CB position did not help us out last year, no excuses tho.

Injuries to their players this year could help us out, no excuses again.

Im just tired of losing, what has it been about 10 years since our last super bowl!!while the eagles had a shot to be in four straight!!!
i want us to at least be feared again like we used to in the 90's.
these close games scare me because we could easily lose them all.i want domination!! what im trying to say is that i want another dynasty for the cowboys, not some quick patchwork with older vets. we need to start to rebuild and not rework. *cough* testeverde, e george, *cough* tuna, yeah thats right tuna has got to go, he hasnt won since 1990 so he is overrated, we need to hire a young coach and draft a franchise qb so we can start over. id rather the cowboys be in the super bowl hunt every year than stacking older vets to try to win in only one year. by the way if the cowboys win the super bowl this year i take this all back :)

Each to their own but I competely disagree about what Bill is doing here, there is a lot of youth on this team and getting this team back to the top is not an overnight deal. Thankfully you have no say so in this matter unless you plan on trying to buy the team from Jerry. I'll keep Bill and dump you!!! LOL

About the only thing that one game at this point of the season will "decide" is, should we win, fans will "decide" to make Super Bowl reservations.

But to become a truly good team it takes a lot more than winning that particular game. Yeah eventually you have to show you're on even par with them but in the meantime you need to start taking care of business against the lesser teams consistently as opposed to win one, drop one, win one etc.

Thats what seperates Philly and N.E. the last few years from most every other team.

Hey we beat Philly early in '03 too.. fluke or otherwise. But it didnt really mean anything.. after 1 more game (taking us to 5-1) we reverted back to what we really were... going .500 the rest of the way.

Even if we beat Oak and then Philly this time taking us to 4-1 it wont mean much if we lose to the likes of the Cards and/or Lions, Skins, Rams etc., later on down the road.

I have to disagree.

The 5th game of the season does not make or break the season one way or the other. There is just way too much that can happen with 11 games to go.

We may have a better idea of how much, if any, we've gained on Philly, but that is about it and even one game is not dispositive.

i hope bp proves me wrong because all dallas cowboys fans want to get back to the super bowl now!!. this is yr 3, if bp thought that this would take time he would have signed a longer deal than 4 yrs. that tells me he thought he could win quickly. maybe i just need to breathe a little and wait till midseason to see what tuna has for us in yr 3. so i will.

I have been following this team for over 40 years missing 1 game in all that time I don't know of anyone who wants to win as much as I do but I also know things don't happen as fast as everyone wants Bill is going to do things he knows that will help this team now and when he hangs them up, he has been with 3 franchises before Dallas and has had success at each place leaving the team still in good shape. I don't know if this team will make it to the SB this year or not but the success of this season should not be measured in did you make to the SB or not, but how far this team progresses to get to that next level where you are competing for the SB

NOT watching the games at all huh? Glenn gets us down there, Keyshawn then gives us the points. Oh yeah AND by the way....Bledsoe is throwing the football.
You gotta have some experience out there fella. The days of just dumping the old to bring in the new from the ground up is Jurassic young man. There is a way to rebuild and remain competitive......BP knows how to do this. What, 11 rookies ain't enough young ones for ya? As far as Testeverde goes if you have to be explaind that you really are a Sunday fan. I appreciate your insight but you gotta start thinking out of the box......Parcells is.

ok when the patriots when another super bowl dont say that the days of dumping the old to bring in the new is jurassic. the patriots are the cowboys of the 90's they WERE YOUNG.
the patriots drafted and slowly climbed up the mountain. thay didnt get older veterans to win quickly like bp is trying to do. to prove my point the patriots lost two starters sun and still won a close game. the lost over 4 starters from last yrs super bowl team and they still are dominating. the younger ones stepped up.

it will be a big game because Cowboys/Eagles usually is, but I don't think it will make or break your season.
