Our window has closed

After watching parts of the Commanders Giants game, I came away with this sad feeling that our window with Tony Romo has closed. RG3 may already be better than Tony and in the last couple of years Eli Manning has raised his game to another level. As good as Tony Romo is, right now he is no better than the third best QB in our division.

I have always been a Tony Romo apologist but right now it is hard to see us going deep in the post season in any of the next few years barring season injuries to those two QB's.

What makes this so frustrating is that the window was wide open from 2006-2011 and we were never able to take advantage of it. When Tony Romo's career is over we may look back at the missed pass to Miles Austin in week 14 last year as his last realistic chance to win the NFC East.

It's hard to see the Tony Romo era coming to an end like this, but this team is a train wreck and even the most ardant homer must see it. We are nowhere near ready to contend this year and with Eli and RG3 being younger and better our future looks pretty bleak right now. Our window closed on December 11 2011.

we never had a window....This team really was never that close to winning anything

whoa fella, pull in those reins. first off, we can beat the Giants, as proven earlier this year. second, i'm not going to concede that RG3 is a Cowboys' killer before we even play aginat him once! nor will i accept that he is better than romo. don't panic, son....

The window has not closed. Jerry just has to start actually fixing the problem we've had for years. Oline, Dline and penalties.

Duh, the window is closed when Jerruhh says it's close.

RG3 already had one concussion, Dallas actuallly beat the Giants and the Cowboys have a Defense unlike any he has faced.

Can't wait to watch the Skins games this year, gonna be a great match-up, they're Defense is poor.

Just slow down and breathe. Football comes in ebbs and flows.

Cam Newton was The Next Big Thing and now can't put together a winning drive to save his life. Aaron Rodgers was the "SS Greater-Than-Tom-Brady-Peyton-Manning-Drew-Brees-and-Joe-Montana-combined" before we realized that he was just a very, very good quarterback again this season. Peyton Manning was done and gone and an afterthought before we realized after a couple weeks that he's Peyton-freaking-Manning.

Our offense is sputtering. We've sputtered before. Our offense will find a groove again.

There's plenty to look at and be concerned about - the biggest is Romo's miscommunications with his receivers before the snap that have happened far too often. But Tony's general level of skill and ability to direct this into being a top-flight offense haven't changed.

It's far, far too early to even think about jumping ship.

Well...he fixed the Corners and that has gone a long way.

How many more year of Tony's prime is that going to take? I apologize if you are just being sarcastic. Hiring Wade Phillips as head coach set this team back 5-10 years.

I'm not being sarcastic...though fixing the same problems this team has had seems to be a joke to this team's management.

We had a window just because it did not happen does not mean they did not have chances. They had the opportunities they failed to capitalize on those opportunities.

They made it to the Divisional Round twice and came up short that is how the ball bounces sometimes.

I think the RGIII hype has gone overboard.

The dude can play... he is good and will only get better.. This guy is much better than Cam Newton.. He is so much smarter than Newton

That has helped. Now if Jerry could stop saying our oline is great and stop shopping in the 2 for 1 bargain bin.

I think the underestimation of RGIII by some on these boards is breathtaking. He's a legitimate MVP candidate.

The league will soon catch up with RG3 the way it did Vick and Newton.

Unfortunatley, Griffin will weather the tough time ahead of him, adjust, and evolve his game to where it needs to be. Because he has a brain in the pan.

The Cowboys window could be open for several years, but players like Dez always seem to be there to shut it every weekend.

It's the same story every year with QB's like RG3. Teams can't figure them out the first year then the next they're terrible.
