again these are real scouts ranking players so far. Not forecasters like mel kiper and you know vic carucci etc.

At this point, there's not much that separates Kiper and Goose from "real scouts," other than access to players on campus. Otherwise, they both watch the same game film, have access to the same measurables, Wonderlic scores, etc.

The guys that do NFL Draft Scout are the guys that put out Lindy's draft issue. They've got tons of media that use their stuff.

Like said, though, whether they're "real scouts" or not is meaningless considering the other guys have a long history of being correct. I'll take "correct" over "real scout" any day.

Here's the ranking of mock drafts, by the way:

http://www.thehuddlereport.com/top100/index.shtml

by the way that lindys guide is already out and I ask how is that possible with the combine just happening and the pro days only a week old?

I bought three of those guides last year and they were all terrible. Most people can guess the first round, after that though it is tough. And those magazines all stunk....espn's scouts inc being the worst, most god awful garbage ever.

I don't know about the Lindy's guide. I don't buy it. I do subscribe to their online service which has updated pro day numbers and updated rankings and mock drafts accordingly. I'm not sure why anyone would buy a print service in today's world of instantly updated internet service.

Ourlads is well known for having some very goofy ratings and mock drafts. I think Norm only uses them so much (he has for as long as I can remember, even back in the KLIF days, IIRC) because he knows one of the owners.

On the bright side, at least they don't seem to follow the draft guru herd. ;)

rick gosselin is totally different. He bases his mocks and projections by tallying information from gm's around the league.

So like if he keeps hearing someones name over and over he will know something is up. that is why I love goose's draft coverage, he is the best in my opinion. He is always spot on and his unique way of doing it is very interesting to me.

He doesnt go to the combine, pro days, bowl games etc....watch film...just asks real gms questions and then uses that information.

Goose is pretty great with the draft.

yep. Norm uses them I believe because of relationship he has with schonka I believe, and again, its not neccessarily about the mock but the research done on the players that is of quality from them.

That is why I posted the mock because I view it more of a peek at a teams draft board according to their scouts.

I should have known better. This board is always about tearing people down and emphasizing the negative. I was just trying to give a different point of view.

No, this board is about posting some information and having us discuss it. Some things receive positive reaction and some things recieve negative reaction. Just look at the official mock draft thread, for examples of both.

Oh, it's nothing against you, theebs. I just think Ourlads is out there sometimes.

This safety is one of those workout wonders who appears out of nowhere, and he might well climb up the charts. But from everything I've read, he's kind of like Adam Archuleta -- more a strong safety than a cover guy. And I'm pretty sure we don't need another one of those. :D

I think Norm also likes the Ourlads guides because their so small and easy to look up players because their write ups are on a page or two(on each position). It makes it real easy for him during the draft to find the player picked.

I suscribed to Ourlad's back in 92-93 when they were fairly cheap. I really wasn't very impressed with them at all. They give pretty good descriptions of players, but they always had problems ranking players by ability once past the name players in the first and second round. And like this mock they come up with too many head scratchers even in those early rounds.

You're being a bit sensitive.

It's nothing against you. Unless you are ourlads.

Thought that was interesting, smith to us in the third.

Not sure how familiar people are with ourlads, but norm hitzges uses them and rick gosselin exclusively and always claims how close the two are to the actual draft...anyway here is there mock. Completely different from anything else I have seen.

22DAL Piscitelli, Sabby SOregon S
53DAL Beekman, Josh OGBoston College
87DAL Smith, Troy QBOhio State

I know theebs might disagree with me on this one, but the bang to buck ratio with Rick Gosselin is WAY out of whack.

That is a horrible mock for us.. who made those picks? Jerry Jones? :laugh2:

Seriously, I'd put my head through my TV if that was our actual mock. :banghead:

Each pick was at least a one round reach.

that is the most ******** draft ever. A nobody piscitelle in the first rd because hes a workout warrior? please hes worth like a 2nd day pick. Beekman looked like an out of shape turd at the combine, and Troy Smith we dont need a midget QB.

I think the draft lays out pretty well for Dallas to trade down out of the first. Given Jerry's history, I would not be at all suprised to see the cowboys try to move down about 10 spots . The value of the draft for us (DB, OL) appears to be at the top to middle of the second round.

I wouldn't be suprised to see the Riders pick up troy smith at 3 (65)

Goose is pretty great with the draft.

In other words, rather than being an expert himself, Gosselin reports on what the experts think. Amazing concept that, from a reporter.
