Didn't see the scouting report on Rasul's brother. Must've been pretty good.:D

first blush it looks gross.
on per pick reflection and ignoring the glaring need at pass rusher it's almost palatable.
peppers would start at SS here day 1 (whether he's good there is a fair question).
engram would become the TE3 day 1 and likely be the next int he long-line of witten replacements.
rasul douglas can really play and might even start. very physical guy that plays a lot like anthony brown.
r4 OT is sensible given Free retirement and need for depth.

but ultimately you gotta get an edge guy in there somewhere with this draft loaded with them.

Im gonna lose it if wedraft a TE early.

Im not sure what the need is? Swaim was good when healthy- Witten plays every down.

Seriously I will lose it

Swaim has hurt himself... Nobody knows what Rico is.. Who knows if Hannah will ever play again. Witten is getting old and isn't nearly what he was in the blocking department.

We need a Tight End. It's down the list of needs but it is a critical part of our zone blocking scheme and a guy that could stretch the middle of the field would do a lot for getting Dez open more.

I'm ok with it. Primarily because I watched Engram at Ole Miss for his career and the guy is a very good TE. Very good.

He's not just another fast guy playing TE (like Hanna). The guy was the Ole Miss offense. He did everything.

He'd be a huge weapon.

I like Peppers and Douglas in the 3rd is ok.

I can't argue the perceived need......but most teams keep two tight ends.
Is Whitten ever going to come off the field?
Is Swaim going to be fine?
Is Hannah going to be fine?
Is Rico going to be better than the rest making any draft pick irrelevant?
Is the draft pick Dallas "needs" going to be a bust or develop?
Can we get the draft pick another year, when we are certain the first four questions have been answered?

Ourlads seems to always give us a weird draft. No pass rushers?

It almost makes you wonder if they pay any attention to the team. This is the deepest draft in a while in terms of defensive ends. For the past two playoff games, we've been unceremoniously ushered out of the playoffs because of a lack of a pass rush, Jerry Jones (who is as transparent as comic book wrapped in mylar) has said we're looking for a "War Daddy", and Ourlads doesn't have us drafting not one defensive end?

Wont happen but Engram used properly would cause all kinds of problems for opponents.

My question is do that think Rico has a real future here.

If not then I would like a young talent to play behind Witten and cut into his snaps and keep him fresh.

We use our TE's with Zeke more then we ever have and Witten does nothing down the field to threaten the safeties.

I think a dynamic TE who can help set the edge does a ton for this offense and Swaim is a good solid player that you can get by with but i'd like another quality weapon in the passing game.

Ourlads is run by ex NFL scouts I believe. They draft according to their board.

Big fan of 2nd round TEs (actually Fasano and Bennett are really good players)

Totally agree, I think he will be a baller and although I'd love to have him I don't think it'd make much sense since A) we have so many glaring needs on D and B) we won't use him properly until Witten retires. Now if all of our D targets are off the board at 60 and Engram was sitting there.... I prob wouldn't be upset with the pick.
