The new guys we added to our roster, guys who were not big name, guys who werent really expected to do MUCH, think about what theyve done. Anywhere we tried to improve, we did

Murray (ok sort of big name) He takes over for Felix suddenly we have a top 5 rushing attack.

Fiametta (When healthy) takes over for Anderson/Phillips and has a huge impact

Robinson in for O-Tree's spot: Cut by everyone, expected to be the no.4, steps up and has made a HUGE impact in our recieving game. With Austin out, and O-Tree in, we definitly are not 7-4

Coleman in for Olshansky: Niether rush the passer, but niether are expected to. I see running lanes being shut down by this guy all the time. Big impact

Elam for Ball: Not much I need to say about that, Ball was-is awful

Tyron Smith for Columbo: Columbo was a good guy and a hard worker, but he had to go. Tyron has stepped up big and is playing one of the harder jobs in football at a possible pro bowl level

Lee for Brooks: Hey Lee aint new to the team, but he is in the starting lineup. I'll admit, I was a Lee hater, this crow tastes really good.

Bailey for every kicker we ever had: Nuff said, gamechanger and has helped this team just as much as any player

Costa for Gurode: This is the only move I dont like, i think this was a fail

We have had so many guys step up this year, can you imagine if we have a similar free agency and draft next year? I give alot of credit to Garrett, he brought in lunch pale guys, all of these people are WORKERS. No more are we signing people like Gatman and Tank who just live off talent and have bad attitudes. If all these players keep up, and Austin and Jenkins return back to old form, I think we'll end up at Lambeu field in January

A few point....

I'm not so sure Fiametta will be playing for us again. If his illness has anything to do with post concussion syndrome, he's not long for this league. Unfortunately.

Coleman has been one of the best and least heralded improvements to this team. In spot duty, he has been an absolute monster....and has put plenty of pressure on QB's in the process.

Gurode wasn't much better than Costa on most occasions, and his salary makes that move a no-brainer IMO. That was a business decision.

But yeah... we've improved. Still rome for more.

If we improve these 4 positions/roles next year we could contend with Green Bay:

1. Get or develop one good pass rusher to complement Ware

2. Get better coverage at ILB (? solution in house with Carter)

3. Get one more good CB and better coaching for all of them - draft

4. Get a league average Center - ? draft vs. FA vs. faith in Costa improving. The only issue with this point is that while I think Costa has been better the last four weeks and they have been trying to work around his problems, his lack of mobility has fundamentally altered what Garrett wants to do on offense. We have had to make big adjustments in the middle of the season to get it going. I really hope we can fix this position with a new player and perhaps keep Costa as a cheap backup option.

I believe we resign Spencer. Him and Butler I think are good enough. I definitly agree that we need a new center and we need another good corner. I still have faith in Newman now, hes been pretty lights out this year minus Miami, however, thats this year, you never know with next year with his age

I think Sean Lee at LB was also huge. Although he is not new to the team in 2011, he is new as a starter, and his presence has elevated the entire defense's play.
