Over/Under Spencer 4 1/2 sacks for season

Well when you're in the 3-4 you better get some pressure from the OLB's. You can't deny that the Cowboys do need to get to the quarterback more and the amount of sacks Spencer has is unnacceptable. It would be nice to get a sack without having to blitz the whole house. But he's playing well I agree. But we do need to get more sacks from our OLB's.

He been getting plenty of pressure just not sacks, are you willing to toss out everything else he does in order to get a few more sack?

He's been pretty damn good in coverage and against the run, he also plays more coverage then Ware does so he's never going to put up Ware type numbers.
There's been a few times now already that he would have had a sack had not Ware gotten there first

I think that 4.5 is a great line... It should be right in that area.

No better time than this week to start, though, since we got him with Philly's pick. Let them have some rue for once.

If I had to say, I'd pick the under... Barely. I don't think he'll ever have great sack numbers because he's not tremendously quick. But he's just so strong and hard to move, and can actually cover a little, that he helps the defense in other ways. He may not ever be the sack artist Ellis was (for at least one year), but he's a much better all around linebacker. Which is a big improvement over someone as one-dimensional as Ellis was.

It's really frustrating to see him not get those sacks and then take flak for it because he's been so good playing the run and defending the pass. Really, really good. He may be one of those guys that just needs one monster game for him to get going.

I think over, he's getting close but not getting their yet.......

BTW I wouldn't draft another OLB, but instead try to get a solid OLB who can at least get 6 sacks a season at free agency time.....
Greg Ellis?

OVER.

He will have at least 6....provided he doesn't get injured for any significant amount of time.

Sacks aren't the only way to judge the guy. He's made alot of good hustle plays that the staff would have never put Ellis in the same posoition to make. He's much more disciplined and better against the run this year. he's coming around and getting better all the time.

It does take time to develop players, you know. Dixon Edwards was pretty good and didn't see the field for three years.

I think it's unlikely that Spencer will suddenly become a 10 sack pass rusher. (There are only 9 games left, so to predict 5 sacks would make him around 10 sacks on a full year.)

I'm definitely taking the under. He'll wind up with 1-2 sacks. Unless he has a monster game and racks up 2 in one game, but I find that unlikely.

He's a decent guy to have, but if he doesn't show something next year, I think we can safely call him a bust. Worthy of an NFL job, but not worthy of a 1st round pick.

Agreed, next year is show time.

Ware didn't have a sack until two games ago. WHat you consider a problem for Spencer, was a problem for the whole team. Yet, our defense just keeps getting better and better. Spencer plays a lot more coverage and he hasn't been exposed in coverage nor is there limitations that we had when Greg Ellis was around.

In the last 4 games, Greg Ellis hasn't even notched a sack, while he started in the first 3 games with 4.
