You dont want jok? Take Collins at 10. Dont downgrade him because he went to tulsa and not lsu/michigan like White and Bush. Thats lazy
I agree with this take. JOK didn’t play a traditional linebacker spot in college, so there is a lot of projecting going on.
Pehaps Quinn would know what to do with him but taking him at #10 would cause me to take pause.
Jabrill Peppers has just now (year 4) turned into a decent safety after playing a similar hybrid rover role at Michigan.
Isaiah Simmons, whom I think was a better prospect coming out of Clemson, struggled last hear with the Cards having to learn how to play in a defined role.
I’m not betting against JOK, just a bit skeptical. This defense needs impact starters now, not 2-3 years down the road.
We need beef inside at DT whether we draft JOK or not.If the team does draft a JOK, they have to be able to protect him, David has Suh, and Vita Vea in front of him. Like JOK as a nickel player, but do have concerns in the run game. Cannot take him at 10, but would be in the conversation as the best player in a trade back inside the top 20. That extra pick to add some beef would ease my concerns.

Beef inside will help keep OL from getting second level on LVE and Jaylon.
Don't get me wrong, JOK at 10 is rich. I just think he's probably going middle of the first and can be a very good player in this league.Fair point. However, isn't JOK more of a projection as he is more of a rover safety on the college level then he is was a weakside linebacker? Fully understand he is more of a positionless modern day chess piece who can play many different spots, but I wonder for this team, if he is more of a nickel type player? Team has to get better stopping the run, yes it's starts up front, but also at the linebacker position. I don't think JOK helps too much in that area. It's kind of like my issue with Barmore, looks like an excellent, nickel, interior rusher, but I worry about him in the run game.
Draft a Nick Bolton and add a Cox or Nasirledeen later on to help with coverage. I cannot take a off the ball linebacker at 10, if he doesn't excel in all areas. Now if the team moved back into that 15-20 range, I would consider it as more the best player available, but still would be searching for more of a run linebacker later on.
As a nickel player, he could be excellent, but the unknown about his run defense due to his size, has me thinking 10 is way to high. As I said, if we are talking in that 15-20 range, I have less concerns, just not at ten.Don't get me wrong, JOK at 10 is rich. In the top 10 you're trying to hit on as close a sure thing as possible...and I'm not even sure what position JOK projects to.
Peppers is probably a decent comparison but even with him I thought he gave you a lot more film of actually playing S in college.
Man, I don’t know about Barmore - he’s either gonna be awesome or less than par. Same with Nixon.Overrated

He played more like a small LB’er.His last season at Michigan he was used almost exclusively as a run blitz/pass rush guy. He had 13.5 TFL that season which is unheard of for a traditional DB.
That is my hope. Maybe he could convince Dallas how much he needs a guy like JOK in his defense.True.
But the new DC saw up close how successful Deion Jones was.
